If you go down to the woods........................

I have been busy lately making layouts and cards for upcoming Scrapology Challenges which I can't share as yet so today I thought I would take some time to make a page for the Merly Impressions Blog challenge instead - Spring is in the air.

For me that means Bluebells and Arlington Bluebell Walk, East Sussex.

I used a 12x12 greyboard and coated with 2 layers of white Gesso, then splattered Distress inks in 3 colours.

The photos are 6x6 cm each side and 6x12 cm in the centre and have been mounted onto some pale lilac/grey bazzill.
Torn strips of Kaisercraft Basecoat III were added behind - I used the bark/woodgrain sheet to reflect the trees in my photos, plus some of the sticker elements in Denim which I wrote on in white gel pen.
I then stamped around the edge and along the bottom with some Allium stamps by Lavinia which I got at Alexandra Palace in April. The ink is SU Espresso.

Then back to what I like best at the moment, I added fronds, leaves, blooms and butterflies which have been die cut/punched. Little lilac gems were added the the centres.

To finish I used the letters from the collection, finelined in black and coated with glossy accents.

Hope over to the Merly Impressions blog for details of how to enter, there is still time.

Thanks for taking a look

Prima Dolls

I was playing recently with my Prima doll stamps and made a card for my great-niece Abi for her birthday.
Unfortunately I forgot to take a photograph :(
This is another one though.............

I used an old book and some scraps of paper to create this one and made a tag with a Sizzix die.

The outfit was stamped several times and layered up.

I added some hessian under the tag and part of a Martha Stewart punched circle.

Flowers and fronds were added to along with a butterfly.

The base card is DL size.

I have others dolls to and hope to have another play again soon.

Fabulous at 50

I was asked to create a card similar to the one I made for Lauren recently for my colleagues sister in law.
Back to my Basic Grey Eva collection to make the following:

It's an 8x8" with lots of white die cuts - seems to be the style I'm favouring at the moment.

Scrapology May Card Challenge

Lynn and I recently went to Alexandra Palace and met Mark and Helen from Visible Image stamps who have sponsored our May Challenge.
The quality of the stamps and the images they produce are fabulous, really crisp and clean.

This is my card -

The images are Bradley and Emma which we masked and stamped together.
I used a 6x6" shaped card from CWC covered with one of my favourite dotty papers.

The image was coloured with Copics.
(The background stamps are Lavinia)

The image was glittered too and mounted with 3d foam.
I then added lots of white die cuts around the edges.

This is the beautiful card by Visible Image which inspired us.

Hop on over the the Scrapology Blog to see the lovely cards created by our DT and the fabulous prize offered by Visible Image.

Lauren's 30th

The lovely Lauren from work turned 30 recently and I was asked by Lucie to make her a card.

I used my Basic Grey Eva collection with an 8x8" card.
It's very similar in style to a few I've made recently with lots of die cuts from Memory Box and punched/stamped flowers.

The butterflies are also Memory boxed layered.

I've used letters and numbers from the collection too, edged them with a fine liner and coated with glossy accents.

Lauren, I hope you had a fabulous birthday :)

Lace Frames

My colleague Samantha asked me to make a larger version of the card made for the April Scrapology challenge for her Mum's birthday, this is the result.

I cut an aperture in white card and added two lacey frames from a Tattered Lace die.
This one is larger than the previous one used.
I layered it with a frame with a pricked edge a la Sue Wilson and added pearls to the corners.

The sentiment is Lilli of the Valley mounted onto a SU scalloped punched circle.

Top left I added a double bow of yellow and green organza ribbon with a twine bow on top and pins below.
Tiny clear seed beads were glued on the end to dull the sharp points.

Paper from my collection was added inside along with a cage and bird cut from a Tim Holtz Sizzix die.

I really enjoyed making this one but found the Tattered Lace dies quite hard to cut and very fiddly!

Happy Birthday Sam's Mum!

Thanks for taking a look.

Good Luck Lucie

Lucie left work recently on maternity leave and I made her the following card as the image reminded me of her :)

The image is a Stamping Bella - Uptown Girl, I'm really loving these, they are so nice to colour.
The card is a 6x6" shaped edge card which I covered with papers from my collection.
The image was die cut with a coordinating layer in bazzill.
I added some swirls cut with a Sizzix due along the edge too.

I used my Copics to colour.

I punched two holes in the edge and tied a crushed silky ribbon into a bow. A white organza was layered on top too.

Inside I added a strip of the same bazzill and some beautiful lace.

Can't wait to meet the new arrival!

Thanks for stopping by.

C is for corrugated cardboard

This month at Scrapology we have chosen to lift a beautiful layout by Tracy Christine Funk from Ontario.
Her gallery can be found HERE.

I chose to use some of my favourite papers from Basic Grey - Eva. These have featured a lot in my crafting lately, more to follow.
I tore the the edge of the floral paper and added to a gutted sheet of deep purple.
My Martha Stewart deep edge punch was used to create the layers in white bazzill which I inked around the edge with Milled Lavender distress ink.

The swirl is cut from mountboard using a Sizzix die and stained with the same inks.
A selecton of die cut stems from Memory box and Heartfelt Creations were added too.

The flower centres are punched with a snowflake punch and finished with a gem.

The circle was edged with a Martha Stewart edge punch which I cut down and layered so it would bend.
A strip of ribbon and lace were added across too - I really love this lace, it's so pretty.

The corrugated card was torn from a pizza box which I had a craft delivery in - no tomato sauce!
I added some texture paste and painted roughly with white acrylic paint which I also dragged around the photo.

Here's the beautiful original

and of course our sketch -

The challenge is open until the 5th June - why not pop over to Scrapology for the DT's inspirational layouts and more details.
