One card - two ways

This is my first tutorial for The Inspirers for Crafter's Companion.

I used the CD from Crafter's Inspiration #10 which has some lovely free projects.
This one is from the Sugar and Spice collection and is a card companion

The following sheets were printed.

But I also wanted to show how it could be changed with the addition of dies, in this case - Toulouse - from the Create-a-card corner range.
You can see how it completely changes the look.

Check out the details on the Crafter's Companion Blog here.

New Create-a card dies from Crafter's Companion

These are the cards I made for the recent launch of the new 6x6" create-a-card dies from Crafter's Companion.

The chandelier was cut twice then millions (slight exaggeration) of gems added.

The candelabra was cut twice, the top layer in black with silver gilding wax.

Lots of fussy cut flowers from the English Country Garden collection.

As above with ribbons threaded through the gates.

English Country Garden dies used here.

This is my second project this month for Merly Impressions using Always and Forever from Kaisercraft.

It began as a card -

And ended up with photographs in a frame!

Sheena Rocks!

Heard some awesome news yesterday that Sheena Douglass has won a "hat trick" of awards and well deserved too! This happened to coincide with my first project as a Crafter's Companion Inspirer which was to create using the Little bit sketchy - Rock set.

I started with Sheena's card cut 8x8" square and 5 1/2 x 3 1/2" giving them a colour wash using the Brights collection Aqua Tints. On the smaller piece I stamped the rock band from Shout and some stars from Grunge band with black archival ink. Once dried I added some Grunge paste with a fine brush and Silver Foil to accent areas. The background was stamped with The Grunge band set and accents added as before, plus white gel pen this was then trimmed by 1/4 " and mounted onto black card 8x8" square. The band image was matted onto silver mirri card and black too. Once dried and flattened (under a heavy book) I added the panel using 3d glue gel to give more definition.
I love inky edges and have used Black Soot Distress ink.

Would love to see what you have created with this set!

Take care

And she's back! Happy Birthday Lynn.

What a nightmare! Windows 10 forced an update onto my PC causing a terminal crash.
Despite spending a fortune trying to get it restored, it, unfortunately had to go to the graveyard in the cloud :(

My lovely husband took control and bought me a new one - Thank goodness - which I am currently trying out and loading up with all my programs.
I love click-free - everything was saved.

So, a quick post from me to say "Belated Happy Birthday" to Lynn who's birthday we celebrated on Saturday at our crop.

Here's the lovely lady herself having just blown out her candles.

And the card I made her using the fabulous Fly Free by Kaisercraft from Merly Impressions.
Blooms are Heartfelt Creations with "prills" in the centre - top tip - wait for the glue underneath to dry before adding! They stuck everywhere :)

And some home made Banana Muffins with Caramel buttercream and drizzle - yes I made the caramel too, great fun!

Hope you had a lovely day Lynn

Mr & Mrs

My colleague at work asked me to make a wedding card for her friends with their photograph.

The card is 8x8" and uses layers of pale blue bazzill & white card.
The Frame is a new Spellbinders die, I love the ornate edges on this!
The flowers were stamped and die cut using the Heartfelt Creations Botanical Rose collection.
The fronds are a Tattered Lace die.

For the larger flowers I used the centre from a Spellbinders set but the smaller ones are a stamen punch.

I added the crushed silk ribbon with a bow and added their name as requested plus the "Mr & Mrs" die from Sara's Signature range - Together Forever - with a drop shadow.

As the card was quite deep I added a box and embellished the corner to match.

Congratulations to the happy couple.

Thanks for taking a look x
