Floral Explosion

This is the card class I designed and taught at the Cardinal Colours Spring Crop recently.

This first one is painted using Sheena Douglass paint fusion Daisy stamps and Pebeo Paints.
The image was stamped onto mountboard and masked then overstamped with text.
Once the flower were painted, I drew in thin stems and stamped the word in the bottom.
Once the edged were inked it was placed centrally on a scalloped edge card with a matt of Basig Grey paper. A gold ribbon and some pearls were added to finish.

Card two is also Paint Fusion using the Hellebore (Christmas Rose) stamp set.
This time I painted them onto card then cut them out.
The mountboard was prepared with black paint, crackle glaze and ecru paint which was back with gold mirri card and some more Basic Grey paper.

A stamped and punched message and some diamante finished this one.

Card Three uses paper from MME - The Sweetest Thing range.
The base card was punched with a Martha Stewart deep edge then covered with paper, the remainder of which was placed on the inside edge.
The then cut a fancy shape on text paper with a spellbinder die.
The flower is made with layers of two different patterned papers and my Tim Holtz Tattered Floral die - all scrunched up.

A few remaining petals were added inside with a butterfly as below.

I punched random butterflies for the front and added jewels.

A ribbon tie was added to finish.

Card Four uses the same range of papers.
The base is a 6x12 piece of cream puff bazzill folder into a gate-fold card.
Squares were cut in the mint paper and smaller squares of cream puff which were embossed with a swiss dot folder. My favourite retro daisy was used to punch the flowers which have small circle for their centres.
The centres were covered with glossy accents or stickles.
A variety of leaves were punched and added behind.

The message was stamped and punch with an SU circle and scallop punch.
Gold stickles were added around the edge.
I also decorated the inside of this one with the same papers.

If you were at the crop and took my class, please send photos of your cards along and I'll add them below - it would be good to see them :)

Love Forever

This is the page I taught at Cardinal Colours crop at the weekend.
Lovely papers from Kaisercrafts Pickled Pear collection.
We had fun with Tim Holtz distress stains creating splats on the page.

Paper rolls were created and added for dimension along with a fan of cards from one of the papers.
Elements from another sheet were added and 3d'd onto the page with some die-cut clock faces made with a Marianne die.

I used white acryllic to dry brush the photo edges.
And a dose of glossy accents too!

The hand of the clock face was used as a body on the butterfly with a jewel.
If you came along and took part, do e-mail me your creation so I can add them below!

Supplies from Cardinal Colours and Merly Impressions.

Health & Wealth - Scrapology March Card Challenge

Our challenge this month came from our own Jill of Cardinal Colours
It's her birthday and her granddaughters on St Patrick's day so the challenge is to create a card with that as the theme.

I downloaded this cheeky chap from Whimsy stamps who have a great selection.
He was coloured with my favourite Copic markers and placed onto a die cut from Marianne designs.
I coloured the edges with chalk inks and ran them over the embossed frame too.

The message (gleaned from the internet) means Health and Wealth - at least I hope it does and I haven't just insulted someone's mother!
The paper is from the Authentique Christmas range which I used for January's tag layout and I added a tied piece of green raffia and some blooms from my collection.

Here's a little close-up of the little lad with a rainbow created with Martha Stewart glitter - these are the ones that come in tubes like stickles.

Follow this link for details of the challenge and to see what other ideas our DT came up with.
Thanks for looking x

Belated Birthday to Chloe

I can finally share the following card as Chloe now has it! A bit late mind!

Lianne asked me to make it and we designed it together using some stickers and rub-ons from my drawer and a photostrip of pictures from our Disney trip.

Sure you had a great day Chloe! :)

Lianne's Birthday

Lianne asked for a Millies cookie so off we went to Bluewater on Friday night and got this one.

And a photo of the birthday girl on her way out to party! :)

Happy Birthday Lianne!

I just don't know where the time has gone, my baby is 23 today!

This is the card I made her using a new stamp from Uptown Girls range from Stamping Bella. Image is coloured with Copics as usual. Elaine at Quixotic Paperie is getting more in this range soon - am going to have to hide my credit card!!!

I used some Bo Bunny papers and a few blooms. I adjusted the sentiment too :)

Happy Birthday Lianne, love you xx

Emma's card

I made this card for Emma's 18th to match the cake I made.

I used some zebra print tissue paper into a 6x6 " card, then added 18 cut with a template from pink glitter cardstock.

Diamond black stickles were added around the edge and her name was added with rub-ons on a panel.

I finished it with a raffia knot and some diamante swirls.

Late now but, happy birthday again Emma!

Well look who's been in contact!

Desk Ted has been off on his travels for a while now and I was getting quite worried about him!

I got an e-mail from my friend Liz and it seems he has been staying at her house and having cuddles with her Granddaughter Emily - here are a couple of snaps of them.

He says he's coming home soon so we'll be able to have some more adventures.

Good to hear from you Ted :)

Engagement, Marriage and a Baby...

I made these a few weeks ago but didn't have time to blog them.

Made for colleagues at work, an engagement....

The image is a Stamping Bella Uptown Girl from Quixotic Paperie.
It's a 6x6" card with papers from Basic Grey's Phoebe range.
The image was coloured with Copics, I added some mulberry flowers and punched leaves too.

The following is from the same range, I just loved the frothy skirt on the dress.

Again coloured with Copics and enhanced with some glitter.
The frame is a Marianne die and I added some faux stitching around the centre.
Flower and some butterflies were added to finish.

And for baby Henry - a woodware stamp from Cardinal Colours.
I used a Making Memories circle cutter to make this one.
The papers are from a pad I got ages ago that is still going strong - perfect for baby boys.

The image is coloured with copics and mounted onto a Marianne die doilly.
I cut the letters from the cardstock and used them to prop the card.

Tied buttons were added for the wheels and glossy accents on the heart.
Little pearls were added to the hood of the pram too.

Thanks for looking.

Perfect Chocolate for Lent and/or a diet.

Today was the first day in ages that I have felt human again having had the most awful cough/cold ever - lasting 3 weeks and including a course of anti-biotics! Really not nice :(

Anyhow, I rushed into the craft room to make some Mothers Day card as requested by work -
I decided that calorie free chocolate was the best plan - here a my bars of gold.

I kept the first one fairly simple with a diamante scroll embellishment.

Flowers and a tag were added to the next one.

And for those who prefer white chocolate...

And the last with a perfect sentiment...

Calorie/guilt free and long lasting :)

Thanks for looking

Just the 2 of us - March Scrapology - P is for Peeking elements

This month at Scrapology we are scraplifting our own lovely Lynn who designed this page for
Cardinal Colours Autumn crop last October.

The papers are from the Basic Grey Serenade collection, Chemise and Bowler Hat.
I cut the Bowler Hat on the opposite edges to the Robin so that it measured 11.5" and distressed the edges.
The Chemise sheet was gutted to 1" and used as an edge to stick the Bowler Hat to.
I folded back the bottom right of the page and a 5" square of the musical note paper, distressed the edges, cut diagonally and added to both sides. A flower was used to anchor the page down.

The photo was mounted onto the reverse of the musical paper and edged with scalloped scissors.
I cut a strip on the left of the page and inserted the ribbon which was tucked around the right edge then added the photograph and a knot to the right. The decorative strips from the cut-off edges were used to frame the photo too.
The words are a stamp as below.

The tree above is a Memory box die with Martha Stewart punched birds added with 3d foam.
The letters are from a Quick-cutz alphabet and I used the label on the page to add the date.

#

Flowers & leaves were tucked into the folded edge as below and the end wires twisted around a pokey tool to make spirals.

More roses were tucked into a tear on the left hand side and over the ribbon.
A couple of scrolls cut with a Memory box die were added either side.

This is the sketch drawn by Lynn and her original page.

Check out the challenge over at the Scrapology blog to see the DT's pages and take part.
Challenge open until the 5th April.
