Gifts from the Girls....

At our annual retreat we always share crafty gifts, I made jars of emblishments here with hand made torn roses and Daisies painted with Sheena Douglass paint fusion.

I had some fabulous gifts back too.....

Lynn decorated these flip-flops (just need the sun now!)

Karen had pencils printed with our event - what a cool reminder.

Sue decorated these oversized pegs which are fridge magnets.

Anita made these lovely Pandora style charm keyrings.

There was also a goody bag of lovelies from Liz & Wendy, Chocolates and Sweets from Jackie and Ange,  a floral lei and garden candle holder from Tina, a box of pins from Jill even though she was unable to come!

We were all very spoilt.

Here is a photo of us just before we came home, well fed and watered.

A great weekend - Thanks Girls xxx

Addicted to.....

Twilight.

OK, I know I am late to this but now I am addicted.
We are not fans of vampire movies so tend to avoid them. I'd heard all the hype and friends saying how brilliant they are so, Twilight came on TV and I recorded it.
Bored one evening, I watched it and was so entralled by the whole story that I immediately ordered the first three on DVD, plus pre-ordered Breaking Dawn part 1.
I have lost count of how many times I have watched them now but it's well into double figures.
I downloaded the books onto my Kindle and have read the whole saga twice already!
Hence the inspiration for this layout - one created whilst at our retreat.
The photo's are from the internet, I'm definitely Team Edward, the papers are Bo Bunny - Enchanted.

The layout is based on a page made by the talented Anita (original to follow) and uses a circle in the centre with three different sized photos.
How spooky that when placed, the words above read -
through the woods of spring - from tree to tree -
certainly not intended but too true to the film.

I embellished the circle with beads taken from the red ribbon that runs across the page.
I felt they represented drops of blood :)

Here is the ribbon with beads intact, covered with a strip of black to dull the colour.

Roll on November when I can see the next film - can I last until then?

Which team are you?

I would like to enter this into the Merly Impressions Monthly challenge, say something about you.
I think this is the most personal page I have ever created :)

Patchwork Birthday Card for Angie @ 70

The lovely Jan that I work with asked me to make this card for her Mum's friend.
Angie runs the Fitness league and I was given their logo and a photograph.

I started by cutting square of the Bo Bunny Country Garden collection leftovers into squares.
These were mounted onto silver mirri and blue bazzill.
The Frame was cut with a Marianne die and placed over the photograph.
I added some corner frames from a Memroy box die.

The flowers and buttons, from my stash, were placed around the frame and pearls/jewels added randomly.

I used Basic Grey letters and then stickled them.
The base card is a 8x8" scallop from CWC.

Hope you have a fantastic birthday Angie.

Thanks for looking.

Megan - James' big sister

I seemed to work in 2's at the crop and made this second page for James' album.
I have used this photograph before for my April Scrapology DT page, click the link to see, still time to enter.

Again I used white bazzill as the base with the same paper collection.

I created the doily circle with a MS corner punch.

She looks so cute with her wings on.

Meet the Smiths

Another page for James' baby book, created at the Cardinal Colours Spring Crop - yes, I was quite busy that weekend!

I used white bazzill as a base and papers from my stash used for the previous pages too.
They seem to work so well with this baby theme.

I punched the circles and cut out a bird, all raised on foam pads.
The little letters are from my stash and outlined with a black fine-liner.

The letters are from one of the paper sheets, cut into squares and mounted on 3d foam.

This is the lush album I have bought for my niece to have once finished, it's mock suede and very tactile.

Sweet Nothings - Answers on a post card please

Our lovely Lynn taught this class at the Cardinal Colours Spring Crop.
It uses Kaisercraft Sweet Nothings papers and some lovely crocheted elements made by Lynn.

The photograph is of my Grand-Parents and Aunt and was taken in Trafalgar Square (I think the Lion may have given that one away!) c1940's I think. My Dad took the photo.

Here is a close up of the flowers, we stitched the felt, ribbon and pearls on then added the leaves and other blossoms.

And a butterfly - so talented!

I am struggling to think of an appropriate title - help!
I thought of Feed the Birds but I'm not sure so any help you can give would be greatly appreciated!
They are Harry, Sarah & Maureen Smith.

This Lynn's original page, click here for her blogpost.

Thanks :)

Live, Love, Laugh.

Our lovely Anita taught a canvas class at the Cardinal Colours Spring Crop, this is mine.

The papers are MME and the canvas is 16".
Click here to see the post on Anita's blog.

It was a fun class to do with lots of different design elements.
I chose these pictures taken on our recent visit to Bodium Castle as we are not at all photogenic and these were not too bad!

We made "rolled" roses and added pearls to the centres & added a tied bow with cream mesh.

The title is from a pack of glitter thickers which were in the kit.
I edged them with a white gel pen to define.

This is Anita's canvas below.

Thanks Anita for a wonderful class - I really enjoyed making this one.

Baby Shower

This another card I made for the Scrapology April card challenge.
We were sponsored by Elaine at Quixotic Paperie who stocks Kraftin' Kimmie stamps so this one seemed very appropriate to the theme "showers"
Her name is Caroline and she is from the Everyday girls collection.

I coloured the image with Copics and used papers from my stash. I think it may be a DCWV stack but I'm not sure. I really loved the fresh colours.
The seam binding is from Stampin' Up and is gathered onto double sided tape.

The sentiment came with the stamp and I added a couple of jewels to finish.

The challenge is open until the 15th May so you have plenty of time still to enter - follow this link to see the details and DT work.

Happy Birthday Ange

The weekend of the 20th April began our annual retreat to Debden.
I was lucky enough to join the Blossom Babes and this was my fourth visit.
Ange, one of the babes, is celebrating her birthday this week so one of my first jobs was to make her a card. The image was given to me by either Anita or Lynn a while back (Thanks!) and I coloured it with Copics.
The base card is red bazzill with a blue matt and Papermania Portobello Road patterned stock.
The ribbon is from my stash with an added bow, message from my "stamped" box.

Hope you have a lovely birthday Ange and are thoroughly spoilt.

Cupcakes for Easter

I'm a little behind on my blogging :)
I made these for an order for Easter presents.
The daisies are wafers by Dr Oetker.

Here are the different colours.

And boxed, ready to go.

At the same time I made some for my work colleagues son's birthday.
I added chocolate stars to these ones.

Happy Birthday James.

Having made all of these I didn't even have one - I gave all sweet things and crips etc up for lent!

Blossoms for Blossoms

This is the weekend of our Blossom Babe crop and we always make a little something for each other.
This year I got some glass jars from Lakeland and set about them with my Daisy Stamp and paints from Paint Fusion by Sheena Douglass.
Here they are in various stages of completion.

A close up of one that I finished.

The finished article, filled with jewels, ribbon, twine, pearls, torn roses etc.
I printed the names and punched them with a SU punch, mounted onto the SU scalloped circle, then stuck onto the lids.

A little ribbon was tied around the neck to finish.

Before filling I sprayed the daisies with Crafters Companion Spray and Shine.
It bought the black ink through in a shade of pink which I think really added definition.

What do you think?

George in a Box page II

I have now added the photo so can share this page too.
I used the same Bo Bunny collection of papers and added some Memory Box die cuts, the heart, heart filligree and the heart border.
Again this is based on a page-map design that I have used quite a lot lately, I am loving using the film strip app on my iphone to show the photos.

Butterflies were cut from the papers as before and raised on 3d foam.
Stickles added to the bodies, antennae added with a fine-liner.

I added the heart border down the edge of where the photo would go (I hadn't printed it before the crop so used a piece of paper in it's place) and embelished with SU buttons as before.

Trusty MS punches created the decorative edge and more printed twill ribbon added.

What a mad cat!

George in a Box

This is one of the pages I made at the Cardinal Colours Spring Crop.

Based on a page-map I used Bo Bunny Country Garden collection papers.
Our silly cat, George, just loves a box and gets in one -empty or not- if the lid is off!
Lianne had (loosely) put the lid back on this one and carried George into the room.

I cut the large butterfly from one of the papers and raised it on 3d foam, the message tag
was a sticker which I mounted on card and also 3d foam.
Stickles were added for some sparkle.

The title was from the sticker sheet thats part of the collection, I ran a fine-line in black to accentuate the letters. The buttons are from a Stampin' Up set and were added with some pearls and jewels from my stash.

I added a piece of printed tape too.

I think this was the fastest I had ever used new papers, they were bought on the Friday and this made on the Saturday. A second page was made to compliment this one but still have to add the photograph, I will share it once done.

Thanks for looking.

April Showers - Scrapology Card Challenge

Happy Anniversary to us!
Our card challenge is a year old this month so, what better way to celebrate than to return to our first sponsor, the lovely Elaine at Quixotic Paperie.
The challenge is - April Showers - to be interpreted as rain, bridal or baby showers etc.

I chose to use this Gorjuss stamp which I've had for a while now.
I created an easel card with a 6x6" base.
The papers are from the Basic Grey Oliver collection.

Daffodils were added with a ribbon bow to the top of the card, and on the base along with a greeting from CWC.

Below is a close-up of the image which was coloured with Copics.

I added some papermania clear glitter dots randomly to represent rain drops :)

The challenge closes on the 15th May so plenty of time to enter.
Why not hop over to the Scrapology Blog to see the other DT cards and details of the lovely prize on offer.

Thanks for looking.
