Cherry on Top Award

My good friend Anita has been kind enough to share the following award with me.

I have to do a few things upon accepting this kind award.

To thank the lovely lady who awarded it to me....Thank-You Anita!

Display the award onto my blog

 List 3 things about me

OK, what to put......

1. I'm a Great-Aunt 3 times, my nephew (sister's son) has two beautiful children, Abi and Rowan.
My niece (brother's daughter) has a fantastic daughter called Megan.
They seem to be the main focus of most of my LO's these days.

2. Having lost our cat recently, I am in a dilemma - do I get another cat(s)?
I miss him terribly and don't feel he could be replaced, but I also miss having cuddles and
being Miaowed at :)
I have added the Battersea Dogs Home app to my iphone and keep checking out the cats and kittens.
I am actually surprised at the hoops you have to just through to re-home an animal - you have to be interviewed, then, if successful, have a home visit before they consider matching you with a pet!
Amazing really when any Moron can have a baby!!

3. I have just had a Hemangioma removed from the nape of my neck.
What (I hear you ask) is one of them on a Monday morning???
It's a cluster of blood vessels outside the body and due to it's location, poured with blood every time I brushed my hair - Yeeeuuuck!
I went for a consultation (Private Medical Insurance is fantastic) and to my huge surprise, he "removed" it there and then!
Robert said I was very brave and didn't make a fuss :)
The anasthetic (local) made my nose numb though LOL!

And, if you made it this far?, post a favourite picture.

Here is one I took recently of Robert while we were on holiday (Sharm el Sheikh) where he was totally unaware of me taking it :)

Last but not least, pass the award onto 5 fellow bloggers:
I would like to nominate the following -
Back at Anita with bells on - I am sooo inspired by your work!
Lynn - another great inspiration and a wonderful friend - Thanks!
Jill - another great friend who also owns Cardinal Colours a fab on-line shop.
A friend and fellow crafter Liz who makes the most intricately beautiful cards.
Also to Elaine of Quixotic Paperie who sells Kraftin Kimmie stamps (among others) and makes the most beautiful cards.....

Have fun ladies :)

Elephants on Parade 2010 - Gerald - Not for the faint hearted!!!

Elephant 135 - Gerald
Artist: Jonathan Yeo

Ok.... here is Gerald...do not read on if easily offended!

He looks innocent enough here, however, Selfridges received complaints and had to have him removed from their window.

I was intrigued as he looks harmless in the brochure photo as above, so I found out that he was on view at China White Club off Oxford Street between 1-2pm.
I got to the club and had to go downstairs and here he was....
still looking innocent.

Several other people were looking at the same time as me when we discovered that the leaves are actually cut from pornographic photos.
The artist Jonathan Yeo is evidently renowned for this.

Caution - the following are close ups - proceed at your own risk!

I shall say no more :)

Just Joey & Cha-Chang

I decided to scrap some elephants today and wanted to use BG papers from Green at Heart collection.
I really love Emerald (which is peachy flowers!) so based this DLO around it.

These are two of my favourite elephants (of many!)

This is Just Joey who I found at Hay's Galleria near London Bridge.
It was raining that day and if you look carefully it looks as if he's weeping which us a little sad.
I thought the floral paper matched the elephant perfectly.

I added scalloped squares and smaller photos cropped with a square punch.
Below you can see detail of the flowers which I coloured with chalk inks except the middle layer which I also cut from the photograps.

I also added some branches cut from a Cricut which my friend Lynn gave me and embellished them with Papermania Jewels.

This is Cha-Chang, photographed on the same day near City Hall on the embankment between London Bridge and Tower Bridge.

This elephant was highly patterened and very orange.
I designed it to compliment the previous page and added the same detailed squares.

Again I cut the centre flower from a photograph.

I also wanted to share the following photograph.
I have no idea who the man is but thought it was so poignant....

A is for Aperture....

I recently scraplited a page from my lovely friend Anita who created a beautiful starbust aperture LO.
This LO became the inspiration for our first project on the Scrapology blog, a new place for inspiration!
I created a variation of the theme with the LO below.
BG Olivia papers were used and mounted onto white bazzill.
I borrowed Lynn's cupcake stamps and stamped onto 2 different patterned papers, accented with Copics, Stickles and Glossy accents then mounted onto 3d foam around the circular holes to create the starburst effect.

Why not visit the Scrapology blog to see some more ideas?

Floral Shoe

The following card was requested by Neha also.
She wanted a Lilac and Silver card for a lady who loves shoes and clothes.
I recently bought an Ooh La La CD called Shoes in Bloom and thought this would be perfect.

The image is called Clematis Purple and I printed a decoupage sheet.
I added some stickles in Icicle to the centres a little sparkle.
The background paper is K&Co and the birthday message from CWC mounted onto SU punched circle and scallop.
Not 100% happy with the photograph,  but hopefully you'll get the idea.

Nishca the explorer

My friend Neha at work asked me to make a Dora the Explorer card for her niece, Nishca.
I used an A4 card and made an easel to which I added Papermania paper from a Forever Friends pad recently purchased.
Neha had e-mailed me the Dora image and photographs of her niece so I printed and 3d'd the characters and mounted onto Bazzill Bling in Emerald.
I used my punches to create the scalloped circle and cut the photo into a circle to fit.

I then embellised the lower with punched flowers and card candy which I also used as the anchor point for the easel top.

I used my Martha Stewart cupcake punch/stamp for the name and added gold letters, stickles and Stardust gellyroll pens.
The birthday message is from CWC mounted onto SU circle and scalloped punched cardstock.
The scallops were studded with stickles in Tiara.

Happy Birthday Nishca, hope you love your card and have a great day  :)

And finally for this section :)

I took this photograph as we were leaving Chelsea Hospital.
It shows the vast area covered by the elephants.

We then went along the Kings Road to a restaurant that Robert likes called the Mona Lisa Cafe.
It's a lovely little Italian place, good food and reasonable prices.

On the way we passed the Bluebird Restaurant and I took the following from the car of their sun canopy outside. As it was Wimbledon week they had oversized tennis balls placed there which I thought was great fun.
