My first ever Digipage

I bought a serif editing package to try to learn how to do layers on photos - you know when the image is black and white apart from one item - and it came with a scrapbook package.
A while back I had bought some images from Studio Skinny by Dawn Inskip so I thought I'd have a play and here is the result!

You can't see the border as it's a white page (will have to work on that) but you get the gist.
I'm quite pleased with it :)

Have you made digi pages? Any tips to pass on?

Look forward to hearing them x

Happy Birthday Steven!

It's my nephews birthday today and he's mad on Chelsea so I made him the following card.
The base is an 8x8" CWC card, the images and text are from the Daily Mail online.
I printed and tore the text of the matches to create the background then added the photographs.
They are from their recent cup victories :)
I printed the letters onto an A4 sheet of white paper then stamped the bunting shapes over the top, stamps are from technique tuesday. I then stamped the bunting in place onto the card adding the cut out triangles with 3d foam.

I ran a line of gold gelly roll stardust pen around the edge and added some bakers twine with glossy accents adding some loops.

Hope you have a lovely birthday Steven!

Wedding card to match the Acceptance

This is the wedding card to go with Denise's Acceptance card.
I used a decorative edge card from CWC - 6x6" again and added a strip behind the edge.
I cut the daisy panel with a Martha Stewart punch all over the page punch then mounted it onto a turquoise bazzill. The same ribbon as before was wrapped around the panel with the addition of a message which was stamped and punched with Stampin' up goodies.
I added some eyelets too.
I had these ribbon roses left over from another project and they fit just right.

Pearls and diamonds were added to finish.

I hope they like it!

Acceptance

Denise asked me to make a Wedding Acceptance card for her.
The invitation was lacy printed vellum so she wanted something lacy to send back.
I had seen an idea on Pinterest which I though I could adapt and here it is.

The card is a 6x6" CWC Scalloped edge which I have inked with a pale turquoise chalk around the edges.
The lace panel is cut from a net curtain which I got from JLP on Saturday along with the ribbon.
I cut a piece of card 13x13cm, inked the edges then stuck a portion of the lace over the edges.
I punched two border strips with a Martha Stewart punch and added top and bottom.
I wrapped the ribbon around a few times and fastened at the back.
The bows were made and glued into place.

I printed the word onto card and stamped around the edge using a Stampin' Up set and inks.

This was the original which was posted by Little Blue Bird Designs

Here is the net curtain and ribbon.

Pocahontas cake

Lianne and I were talking recently about old photographs and cakes and she asked me to find these ones of a cake I made for her 6th birthday.

She wanted a Pocahontas cake and I didn't want to convert the Barbie tin again (a story for another time!) so I hired a number "6" tin and made this one.

Covered in green fondant icing to represent the forest, I added a stream, pool and waterfall of marbled blue fondant. The trees were formed into a cone shape then I cut into the sides with scissors to make them look like fir trees. I added some grey/brown marbled fondant rocks and piped buttercream to look like bubbles in the water.
The figures were from a Polly Pocket set she had and I placed them to look as if John Smith was spying on Pocahontas over the river.

Here is the birthday girl cutting the cake, can't believe she is now 22!

I must find some suitable papers and scrap this too.

Thanks for looking, it's been nice reminiscing.

Happy Birthday Lynn

I made this card for Lynn's birthday yesterday but couldn't publish it until I had given it to her!

The card is 6x6" and I have used Kaisercraft Bonjour papers from Merly Impressions.
The image is a stamp by Michael Powell coloured using Copics.

I added a ruffle of seam binding from SU and some glittered cardstock as a mat.

I followed the picture on the stamp to decide where to colour athough my own choice of shades.
The butterflies are also in the Bonjour pad punched with a new Martha Stewart triple butterfly punch.

Hope you had a lovely day Lynn - Happy Birthday!

Calorie Free Cupcakes....

Following on from the circle card challenge, I made this one.

The circle was cut from a 6x6" card with a circle cutter, topped with a circle of patterned card from my collection. The cupcake stamped images were given to me by a friend - sorry I can't remember who :( - and were coloured using Copics.

I cut the bunting from the same backing sheet and added with 3d foam.
Below is a close up of the cupcakes, glossy accents and a white gel pen were used to highlight the sprinkles and cherries.

And the best thing about these is.....No calories!

London 2012 - Big Red Bus

I used a 6x6" card and left over papers from the Portobello Road paper collection.
The stamped image is one of the Penny Black London 2012 collection and has been coloured with Copics.
I also used gelly roll pens in glittery gold and silver to highlight.

My recycling (apart from leftover papers) was to use some ribbon from my christmas door wreath, a travel card and some postage stamps.
It's quite a dimensional card as you can see below.

Patience of a cat!

Having some time to play, I have been looking at various challenges.
I made the following to take part in two that are currently running, Bronte and Bella's Challenge Blog &
The challenges were to make a circle card using a Mo Manning Image - not hard as I love her work! and Blossoms and Butterflies for the other one.

Here is my card, a circular easel card covered with papers from my collection.

The image is coloured using Copics.

I used Martha Stewart punches for the butterflies, the larger one shadowed with a dark coloured card.
Jewels added to the centres.

The flowers are from my stash with punched leaves added for dimension.

Follow the links above to find out more about the challenges.

Book Lover - Cupcake Craft Challenge #193

Last week I was too late for this challenge so I am getting in early!
The challenge is to include an image of a book, I used a Kraftin' Kimmie stamp called Lucy who is relaxing with her books.
Details of the Cupcake Craft Challenge can be found here.

The papers are leftover from our Scrapology April kit, using BG Picadilly papers.
I covered the whole card with the stripe then cut a circle of the floral.
The image was also cut into a circle and mounted with 3d foam.
I tied some organza ribbon across the larger circle and added a knot and a bow.

The flowers were punched with a small retro daisy and pearls added to the centre.
The fronds are my McGill pine punch.

Image coloured with Copics.

Howzat?

I made the following for a friend who's involved with her local cricket club.
The decoupage sheets are from a collection I have had for a while now.
This first one was mounted onto a piece of white bazzill and placed onto a 6x6" card covered with Kay & Co paper.

The message is a Craftwork card one which I have mounted onto punched circle and
scallop from SU.
Lots of layers on this one.

The second is from a Dufex sheet.
This one was placed onto a piece of brown bazzill which I left a little wider and wrapped with bakers twine joined with a button.

Less layers to this one but a really bright finish.

Base card is 6x6" covered with paper from my stash.

Ooh La La

I started making this card last week for the Cupcake Craft Challenge, Oooh La La.
Finished it to find the challenge had closed :)

Never mind, here is my card anyway.
I used Kraftin' Kimmie stamp Suzette and papers from Kaisercraft Bonjour collection.

The image was coloured with Copics and I added tiny dots of white around the ruffles to look like frothy lace.

A little real black lace was added along with some gems to finish.

At least I had fun making it.

Under the sea - Mythical Creature II

I love the theme of the Scrapology Card Challenge this month and got a little carried away, here is card number two.

I have used a 6x6" CWC on the edge card and a decoupage image from Crafty Purple Frog who work closely with Sweet Pea.
The background is embossed card and swirls cut with a Tim Holtz die.

There are lots of layers on this image, I used foam pads usually.

Jewels were added to the points on th edge and also as bubbles on the other side.

Semi Circles of glitter card were added under the edge to sparkle.

Plenty of time to enter the challenge, just pop over to Scrapology for details.

Scrapology May Card Challenge - Mythical Creatures

This month's card challenge on Scrapology has been sponsored by Sue who is not only a member of our DT but also runs the Sweet Pea Stampers Challenge blog.
The brief was to use a Mythical Creature which is just up my street!
I love all the Sweet Pea images especially those by Ching-Chou Kuik.

I used a CWC 6x6" card and created mats of glitter and bazzill.
The image was stamped and coloured with Copics as below.

Sandra gave me a couple of swirls cut with a Memory box die at Jill's crop so I cut them in half and placed them under the edge of the image.

Random gems were added amongs the fronds.

Why not pop over to Scrapology to see the cards made by the DT and enter our challenge.
Look forward to seeing you there.

Sweet Pea Stampers Challenge - Flower Power

The challenge on the Sweet Pea Stampers blog currently is flower power,  here is my entry.
I have used a 6x6" card with papers from my stash and a ruffle of seam binding from SU.
The image is by Ching Chou Kuik, cut with a spellbinder die.

I have used Copics to colour the image then added shimmer with gelly roll stardust pens - unfortunately they don't show up well in the picture.
I have glazed her eyes with glossy accents too.

I chose to make my favourite flowers at present, torn roses, which I have inked and stickled.
The fronds were punched and inked.

This card also fits the theme on Scrapology this month, sponsored by Sweet Pea, of Mythical Creatures.
Why not follow the links to the challenges and take part in both to double your chance of winning some lovely Sweet Pea stamps.

Look forward to seeing your entries....

Chocolate Brownie Cup Cakes

Today was a baking day.
Lianne asked me to make chocolate brownies so I found a cup cake receipe on the BBC Good food site and made some.
The photograph makes them look a little dark here.

Lots of yummy chocolate goes into this mix along with Walnut pieces.
I made two batches or 12, the second one had white chocolate chips too.

Votes from the household?
A resounding yes!

Thanks for looking.
