Choco Chops

Whilst looking for the other crop kit Lynn bought me, I found this one designed by Wendy McKee for a Papermaze class October 2010!
The papers are Jillybean Soup - Monster Stew.

I can't show his photographs on here. hence the eyeball paper circles but you get the idea.
They were taken at a BBQ we had in August for his Dad's birthday, he had chocolate cake all around his face!

I think my circle are smaller that the original as I punched them with Woodware circles.
I didn't have a star template so I drew it freehand.
Cutting all the little monsters was a challenge, they nearly became amputees!

Lynn's original post is here.

This is her layout, Wendy's original is on Lynn's blog as above.

Thanks, yet again Lynn for sharing :)

Croc Girl

Another Papermaze crop kit, this is the latest one - September 2012- with papers from MME.

I used a photograph of me holding a baby croc at Crocodiles of the World, Witney, last August 2011.
It really made my day as I just love these creatures - mad I know - but they completely fascinate me.

As I wasn't there I had to use different punches etc to finish the page.
Lynn embossed the honeycomb and cut the tag for me - Thanks :)

The title is a new set of stamps I got from Craftwork cards, I love the way they came out.
The little circle fit onto candi too!

Such a lot of detail goes into their pages, it's always a delight to follow.

Here is Lynn's version and her blog post.

And this is the original and post.

I think I may have another somewhere? Am off to look!

Thanks for looking :)

Cheers! Chas'n'Dave

This is another crop kit Lynn got me from Papermaze, this one is from August 2012 so I'm catching up slowly!

The papers from the new Carta Bella range Paris Girl and the kit had lots of lovely goodies in it.
I chose to use these photographs from our trip last year to Disneyland Paris.
The title came about as we saw Chip'n'Dale in the park and Chloe yelled "look there's Chas'n'Dave" so the names stuck! Lianne and Chloe had gone to the steak house for dinner and took these pictures which I cut down to 2x3 each to make one @ 6x4.

I didn't have the correct templates etc to make the page so I used some by Technique Tuesday.
The flowers & leaves are punched with woodware green punches which I got from Jill, Cardinal Colours, which are the same as those on the original.

The labels and text were cut from one of the sheets of paper.

I really enjoyed this one too - Thanks Lynn!

Segway - Part One!

Lynn is a regular visitor to Papermaze and was lucky enough to attend their March crop.
They have a page kit available and she very kindly bought one back for me.

The papers are Authentique Genuine - True, Forever & Genuine - and the kit included the cardstock, twine, brads and dew drop beads.

I used 2 6x4 portrait photos trimmed down and tweeked the design to fit.
Also, as I wasn't there I used different punches etc to complete it.
My pictures are from a Segway session I had bought for Robert for his birthday at Leeds Castle.
It was in April this year and it was drizzling when we started off. By the time we we part way round the heavens had opened and we were totally drenched. Southern Segway called it off and told us to rebook for another time. It was a real shame but we enjoyed what time we had doing it and would totally recommend it!

I trimmed around the edge of the large butterflies wings and put the papers underneath.

I loved the laced effect below.

I also punched a couple of butterflies and tied the leftover twine around their middles.

This is Lynn's page - click here to see her blog post

This link is to the Papermaze Crop Kit and the original layout is below.
Thanks to Lynn for getting it for me and to Papermaze for a beautiful kit.

Live Simply, Love Deeply

Another of Anita's class pages is this one, see here for more information.

This is my version....

Paper are Simple Stories.
We traced and cut out the shield which was stamped around the edge with a swirl stamp then mounted onto patterned paper.

I chose to use the remainder of the pink bling from the previous kit to mat and layer my photograph.
I also added the jewel strip around the edge!

There were a series of journalling cards and numbered cards like bingo tickets on of which we cut and mounted onto a folded piece of black bazzill.
This opens to reveal further photographs an embellishments and is secured with a ribbon as below.

I tucked one beneath the opening and cut out "remember" and added it with 3d foam.
I also cut my swirls with a sizzix die and added to the page.

Hop over to Anita's blog using the link above to see her original page, it's beautiful.

My Little Ballerina

Although she is tap dancing here!

This is my take on a class taught at Cardinal Colours by the wonderful Anita, click here to see more.

The papers are by My Minds Eye. Lost and Found Two along with some bazzill bling.
I found some old photographs of Lianne taken at the end of year class at Sylvera School of Dance, Crayford. I have cropped and enlarged them.

Scalloped scissors were used to trim the base page down which was then mounted onto the bling.
We cut the garlands out and added them on along with loads of pearls.

A circle of tuile was included which we folded and eased into a cut across the tailors dummy.
Paper Roses and pearls hid the seam.

A die was used (Memory Box I think) to create the swirls, one of which was cut into two.
We had loads of lovely square pink bling on strips which were used to frame the pictures.

Thanks Anita for sharing yet another lovely class page, another to follow!

Thanks for looking.

An Unconventional Christmas - Scrapology September Card Challenge

The lovely Natalie O'Shea set the challenge this month, to use a product or tool not usually associated with Christmas to make a card.
I have to confess, it took me ages to come up with an idea for this one, but, here it is:

A while back, Anita used a piece of a bath scrunchie on a layout.
Lynn and I bought and unravelled these :)

I used the white one wrapped around some card with white wool as snow.

I made the christmas trees with the pennant punch above.

And glittered the snowflakes, trees and "snow" with nail polish :)

The snowflakes and easel stop are both Martha Stewart punches.
I've added some diamante to the centres.

This one is sooooo far out of the box :)

Pop over to Scrapology for details of the challenge and to see what our fab DT have made.

Scrapology September Challenge - H is for Hexagons

This month we are featuring Katherine Sutton (Sutty) and our kit is MME,
Follow your Heart - Be Amazing
Details can be found on the Scrapology Blog here.
This is my page.

I masked a piece of 12x12 Kraft using the width of the tape as a border, then dry brushed with Vanilla Bean Acrylic paint.

Then painted a piece of bubble wrap with Lettuce Adirondak paint and pressed onto the paper.

My photo (6x4") is mounted onto another piece of Kraft. I cut random hexagons from the 12x12 sheet and placed them around the top left of the photo. Elements were cut from a few 6x6 sheets from a pad from the same range which were also placed around the edges.

The bunting is made from strips (from the 6x6 pad) of 2x1" which I snipped into.
The top edge was folded over two pieces of bakers twine and glued into place, the ends I have coiled and stapled.

Some of the Hexagons are on 3d foam for detail.

In my selection of smaller papers I had the above shape of hexagons so I cut it out to include the bird and swirl. I also ran a line of black fine-liner around the painted edge.

This is the 12x12 paper in the kit along with 2 sheets of Kraft.

There are also 4 random sheets from the pack below.

The kit is completed with some Vanilla Bean Acrylic paint and 2m of Bakers Twine.
A limited amount are available for sale via Cardinal Colours, please contact us if you would like more details.

And a good luck!

The last one is a leaving/good luck card and Jean wanted to show the journey they have had along the way.
I created a concertina of card and attached it to another 8x8" card, I then created a "cover" for the workings and covered it with papers from the Basic Grey Picadilly range.
I added strips to the insides of the concertina then mounted the photograps an stepped them, one on each fold.

The front cover of the 8x8" inch card has a photo embellished with daisies and candi again.
This time I used a leaf punch.

This is how it opens.

Again I really hope she likes them!
