The start of Christmas '09

I began the epic task of Christmas cards today using a Forever Friends kits.

The first one was a decoupage sheet which was die-cut. I agree with Lynn that I'd rather just cut out myself as I hate the edges being white or not crisp - it takes longer as I have to trim each piece. I added some CWC pearlescent paper as a background and layered the decoupage on the inside of a card with an aperture.


The next one is a pyramage layered card with the same background sheet on a CWC scalloped 6x6 card.

The last one was a glossy rub on. I used one of the A6 cards trimmed and chalked as a base and mounted onto a 6x6 card with a bazzil mat. I added a peel off as a border.

New Baby Card

Today I made a card to go with the new baby album.
I used a template purchased last year and the paper collection from the album - Kay & Co, Brenda Waltons Small Wonders, Boy.

I highlighted each letter with and inked edged and Marvy Le Plume pens and emulated different types of stitching.

Jewells and Pearls from Cardinal Colours decorated areas along with a few BG buttons which I tied with thread.

Three ribbons were tied though each hole to secure and add further decoration.

Small 6x6cm photographs and the animal characters from the paper were added inside.

All made with Brenda Walton Baby Boy papers.
I used my retro flower punch with this one (2 sizes) and the SU Scalloped circle punch.

I loved the lime green bazzil with this one and added 2 borders from the bazzil basics pack I got from Jills (Cardinal Colours) on Saturday. This one was based on a Page Map.
I left the journalling block blank so they can add a message.

I really hate defacing the photographs like this! :(

Secret Squirrel (or Ducks?)

This is an "edited" version of a page I've created for the new baby album.

Apologies for the "whiteout" but I have been asked not to put photos on the web :(

However, I wanted to show this LO as I used my new Cricut to cut out the Duck family and letters. I was really pleased the way this came out and the Ducks were fun to play with. I inked the edges of the white to create extra dimenson and put 3d foam under the wings of the single ducks. The trio are a border set.

Yesterday....

Had a fabulous day at Jill's crop and made some lovely pages for the new addition to our family, Rowan, album.
Unable to show the pages unfortunately though :(

Just wanted to say Thanks to Jill and all for another great day.

Am off to play with my new toy, a Cricut that Robert bought for my birthday (next month) and finish the pages mentioned above.

Scrapaholix October Kit Page 2

This is the 2nd page created with the Scrapaholix October Kit.
You may recall this photograph which was posted recently following my family tree search.
This is one of the few photographs of my Dads Dad, Harry Smith. It was taken, I believe, outside the Gardeners Arms PH in Chatham Road, Battersea. This pub had been demolished and replaced with a modern building by the time I was old enough to notice.
I used more of the papermania alphabet purchased for the "Cousins" LO which features his wife.

Delayed Birthday Order

I was asked to make 2 further Witch cards at a recent pamper event for a lady called Sarah who is turning 40. Due to sorting out the care home for my Mum and trying to tidy my craft room, I completely forgot! So, today, I decided I must catch up and make them for delivery this afternoon, here they are:

Made with Molly Harrison decoupage sheets bought from our recent excursion to the Pantiles in Tunbridge Wells (the reason for the visit) and mounted onto my favourite 8x8 cards.
