Pretty in Pink

My lovely colleagues at work have been keeping me busy lately - not that I am complaining as it's lovely to have occassions to make special cards for!
Steve asked me to make a card for his wife's birthday and sent me a photo of her with their boys.

I made an 8x8" card and used papers from my collection - I bulk bought the dotty one as I loved it :)

I added a gathered ribbon and some mulberry flowers....

and some Martha Stewart punched fronds....

then tucked in some die-cut vines and a gem stem....

The name was cut with my Cricut, the greeting is a sizziz die.

The photo and greeting were cut with doodlebug glitter cardstock - yummmmmm!

And of course, no card is complete without a scattering of gems!

Hope you had a lovely day Claire.

Thanks for looking.

New Beginnings - Scrapology September Card Challenge

Our September challenge at Scrapology was set by our lovely DT member Sheena who suggested new beginnings.
This worked well for me as my colleague at work had just had a new baby so I made the following for him.

It's an 8x8" card with a patchwork of papers from my collection.

I added some tags and stamped a message.
The letters are cut from the same range of paper.

Some stitches were added with DMC thread....

and some dressed buttons and a tied ribbon.

Welcome to the world Preston :)

Pop over to the Scrapology blog for more details of the challenge and the DT's lovely cards.

A little box of Love.........

The second class I taught at the Cardinal Colours Autumn weekend crop was the following box frame.

The box frame is 9x9" and is glossed white.
I created a grid template on my Cricut using Home Decor cartridge of hearts.
This was cut to fit the back board and an 8x8" or patterned paper placed behind.

I then cut loads of hearts the same size from ice cream toned bazzill.
My photo is 3 1/2 " Square and is mounted onto a 4x4" piece of the background paper.

The hearts were layered in colour order then machine stitched into place with white thread.
I kept the white hearts on the top and for once did not ink any of the edges!
Well apart from the photo and mount :)

The word love was cut with the same cartridge placed over the photograph and coated with glossy accents.

To finish, I added 4 gems in a diagonal across the page.

I loved designing this frame and hope my class ladies did too - I am hoping to add their versions below shortly.

Thanks for looking.

So Happy..........

This time last week I had just finised teaching the layout below at the Cardinal Colours Autumn Crop.

I used a base of black bazzill and a sheet of Willow from the Kaisercraft Pickled Pear collection.

My photo was cut to 4x4" square and matted onto black bazzill.
I drew inside a circle cutter to create a ring about 22cm round, then placed the photo in the bottom right of the page. Lots of die cut and punched flowers and butterflies were placed around the circle along with some dressed buttons.

I inked and drew patterns around the edges. Circles and stamens were also added to the centres along with some gems.

My Marianne Butterfly die was cut twice, once in patterned paper and another in black to shadow it.
I  made a rolled paper body to add too.

Ferns were punched and added under the blooms.

One of the papers had a chevron pattern so I cut some out and positioned them to point a the photograph.
My title was cut with a Quick Kutz Alphabet - one of my first ever purchases!

I am hoping some of my lovely class ladies will e-mail me with their creations so I can show their versions too - I really hope they enjoyed making this page.

Back with more soon.

New Baby - Chloe

Denise asked me to make a baby card for someone at work.
I used some papermania papers from the Forever Friends baby pack and created a patchwork of 2" squares. A pink gingham ribbon was added the edge with a knot.

The photo was mounted onto hot pink card.

I added cross stitches along the joints and some tied buttons.

The bunting was punched with a stamping up punch, the letters are Sassafrass lass, edged with black pen.
A few gems were added to finish.

Stash Busting

I'm trying to tidy my craft room as it's got really messy, so I decided that instead of putting papers away (never to be seen again) that I would make cards with and use it all up.
These are the first of them - I think the papers (cardstock) is DCWV but I'm not sure.

I created a cupcake....

and a cake stack..........

One for Chocolate lovers............

A floral arrangement...........

And a layered butterfly using the Sizzix Butterfly die.....

Still not halfway through this stack but am working on it :)

How do you use your stash?

Another Starburst

I created a second page too.

This one I mounted onto some gold bazzill, the papers are MME The Sweetest Thing - Tangerine collection.

Again I used the Stamping Gear system to create the starburst but this time I added stitched buttons between the petals. Tiny 2mm gems were added around the bottom of the petals and larger ones outside the ring.

Don't forget to check the blog for more details :)

Scrapology September Challenge - S is for Starburst

This month we are scraplifting the talented Sandie Edwards whose blog is HERE.

This is  my version made with Kaisercraft Marigold papers.
I used the Inkadinkado stamping gear system to create the starburst with a floral petal stamp.
I then cut a circle of paper to fit inside on which to mount my photograph.

Further petals were stamped and cut from other papers and overlapped using 3d foam to create the starburst.

I "splatted" the base page with distress stains and inked the edges first.

I used the decorative strip from the cut-off edge at the bottom along with a button tied with a bow.

Check out the Scrapology blog for more details and our lovely DT's pages.

Baptism card for Matilda

The lovely Lauren at work also asked me to make a christening card for her goddaughter Matilda.
She asked for "pink" "lacey" and "Butterflies" and this is what I made.

The card is 8x8" and made into an easel card.
I used my Martha Stewart deep edge PATP to create a base and backed it with pink bazzill.
An embossed circle features in the centre mounted onto some dotty card.

The butterflies are Memory box small double set - my larger ones have gone missing :(
- and are sitting on a die cut swirl.
A line of lace was added across the bottom edge with a bow.

The letters were cut with my QK alphabet, placed around the edge and lined with a black pen.

Flowers were added to the bottom corner and gems in the centre of the punched edge.

The letters on the support bar were cut with a Sizzix alphabet and covered with glossy accents.
Another punched border was placed underneath.
