April Showers - Scrapology Card Challenge

Happy Anniversary to us!
Our card challenge is a year old this month so, what better way to celebrate than to return to our first sponsor, the lovely Elaine at Quixotic Paperie.
The challenge is - April Showers - to be interpreted as rain, bridal or baby showers etc.

I chose to use this Gorjuss stamp which I've had for a while now.
I created an easel card with a 6x6" base.
The papers are from the Basic Grey Oliver collection.

Daffodils were added with a ribbon bow to the top of the card, and on the base along with a greeting from CWC.

Below is a close-up of the image which was coloured with Copics.

I added some papermania clear glitter dots randomly to represent rain drops :)

The challenge closes on the 15th May so plenty of time to enter.
Why not hop over to the Scrapology Blog to see the other DT cards and details of the lovely prize on offer.

Thanks for looking.

Kraftin' Kimmie - Clarabelle

Please allow me to introduce you to Clarabelle -she's very cheeky!
Clarabelle is another of the new Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps released recently and available from Quixotic Paperie.
I coloured her with Copic Ciao pens and then traced a circle in pencil and cut it out around the wings, antennae and foot. I got a set of Nestabilities from Jill's, Cardinal Colours on Saturday and the mount was cut with that. Papers are from BG, Green at Heart mounted on a 6x6" CWC card.

I tied a ribbon with faux knot around the edge and dotted the mount with stickles which I also added to the wings.

The image is raised on 3d foam.

Isabelle

I was up with the larks this morning - well the hens and cockrell near home who were having a real paddy!
Anyway, decided to get up and have a play. I had thought of an idea and wanted to try it out.
This is the result with which I would like to enter the Kraftin' Kimmie - Challenge 76 - Are You Ready...for May Flowers??

I stamped Isabelle onto coated cardstock from Clarity Stamps and made a mask.
I then stamped a Kay Carly floral panel image (a present from Lynn) and again created a mask - my May flowers for the challenge. They are both rubber stamps and not of the clear variety so how pleased was I to position her on the centre of the flower!
Then, being totally brave (cos I don't usually do this) I got out the brayer and the big and juicy and......brayered the edge.
I realised at once why I dont use this technique more often as I got vertical lines, then also realised that it was probably down to the cuts in my mat. Tried again in the bottom corner with a wadge of copier paper under the image and - hey presto - it worked!

I coloured my image with Copics but due to the surface of the cardstock was not able to blend the colours as well as usual, they seemed to pool and stick, but I was quite happy with the result.
Now, the pesky lines......what to do - flash of inspiration (or madness) ((or even both)) - used my copic spica glitter pen and added little wavy lines and dots of stickles hoping it looks like a sprinkling of fairy dust!

Thanks for looking and sharing my madness lol!

Brand new challenge on Scrapology......

.....for card makers!

Our first challenge has been set by Elaine of Quixotic Paperie

"Be Charming"
- incorporate charms into your card design, either as a focal point or to accent your design.

I used a 6x6 CWC card and covered the front in Memory Box papers
using a strip of a different paper at the bottom.
The image is one of the new Kraftin Kimmies called Angie.
She was coloured using Copic Ciao pens.

The Roses were made with a small and tiny retro flower punch. I embossed the backs of the petals and the centre to create dimension then added a pearlised gem to the centre.

My charm was a tea pot which came in a pack from Quixotic paperie recently, I thought it went well with the stamp :)

This is the stamp and sentiments.

All items are available from Quixotic Paperie, why not hop over and take a look.
Also, check out the challenge on Scrapology and see the other DT entries.
There will be a prize announced in the next few days!
