Anita's card

The lovely Anita had her birthday while we were away last month so I made her the following -

It's an 8x8" scalloped base from CWC covered with some papers from MME which I love.
Having created some matts, I stamped the verse onto the dotty paper then set about adding the flowers.
A piece of seam binding was ruffled down the fold edge.

I had bought a set of stamps at Oyster crafts from Heartfelt Creations with a matching die so used these for the flowers.

The butterflies are Memory Box and are layered with coordinating cardstock.

The foliage is also a selection of my many dies and punches.

Hope you had a fabulous Birthday Anita, it was lovely to share your day!

Willow-May

Now that Blogger is playing the game - I have a lot of catching up to do!

The lovely Victoria at work gave birth to this gorgeous little lady back in January.
Life has been very hectic so I only managed to visit her recently to give her the card I made!

It's an 8x8" with a frame punched with a Martha Stewart deep edge PATP, mounted onto pink dotty paper from my collection.

The photo is mounted onto a piece of BG Sugar Rush and the letters are from the same collection.
I wanted to keep it simple so just added a row of ribbon roses along the bottom edge and some gems.
The letters were outlined with a fine-liner and then coated with Crackle Accents - yes, I picked up the wrong bottle again! - but it worked fine,
A ready made bow was added to he top of the photo to finish.

I had a lovely evening of cuddles and hope to do it again soon.

Congratulations Victoria and Matt, she's lovely.

50th Card

Men's cards are always hard so I was pleased to help a colleague at work by making the following for her brother.
The card is an 8x8" with papers from my collection.

I used the Teardrop cartridge in my Cricut to cut the numbers and letters then layered them with 3d foam for dimension. The name was added on a banner.

To finish I added a knot with some tape and a few candy.
Simple but unique as I'm sure he won't have another the same.

Thanks for taking a look.

Scrapology Card Challenge for April - Freebies.

Most of us buy magazines and they often come with stamps, papers or other embellishments which just sit there and gather dust - never to be used!

This month we challenge you to create a card using a freebie - or several.

I had recently bought the Tattered Lace Magazine with a free die and papers so made the following:

I used a 6x6" card base and cut a square aperture into the front which I then covered with one of the free papers. I also used the same paper on the inside.

I then cut a frame from white card with the same sized aperture and added two die cuts from the freebie to either side to create a screen.
The bird is from the Sizzix Tim Holtz birdcage die.
I added an organza bow with a dragonfly charm and a couple of pearl headed pins and some gems to complete.

Still time to join in at Scrapology, check out the blog here.

Scrapology April Challenge - V is for Verse

My blogger has been playing up and not allowing me to upload photo's - hence the delay in posting this!

For our April challenge we lifted a stunning layout by Steph Devlin, this is my version.
The original had a verse on it and I wanted to use one from Corinthians which was read at our wedding.
I don't have an A3 printer so cut my 12x12 down and run it though on A4 paper.
I then re-joined it with a plain sheet behind.
I stenciled the butterflies with distress ink then added a die cut (Marianne) and chipboard clock which I had painted with white acryllic and stained with the same distress pad.

My photo was added centrally and flowers and wired ribbons added underneath.

Leaves, stems and swirls were added behind along with some Memory box butterflies and gems.

I'm loving the Memory box dies at the moment, especially the dandelion heads and butterflies.

Here is the verse - the paper is from BG Plumeria collection.

Here is Steph's stunning inspiration and our sketch.

There is still time to enter, pop over to the blog for inspiration and competition details.

Car for Ben at 30

Another request from work was to make a card for Ben turning 30 who likes cars and is a fitness instructor.
I had difficulties finding a suitable image then I remembered the "Mikey" ones which I bought digitally from Charmed Cards and Crafts.

The card is 8x8" black from CWC. Papers are MME - really loving these!

I added the chevrons to make it look like a road theme then put the 30 in a circle like a speed sign too.
The letters and numbers are from a Basic Grey collection which I have coated with glossy accents.

The image was printed and then coloured with my Copics.

I also added the detail to the number plate to personalise it a bit.

Hope he had a lovely birthday.
