Avatar

I was looking for  a photo of Mum today and found this Avatar made for me by Jazz on the
Craft Swap Forum.

When I opened the page it was still animated so I wanted to see if it worked on here too?

James 1st Christmas - Page 2

Page 2 started in the same way with white bazzill and red bling.

I cut and decoupaged a panel of flowers from a sheet of Jovial paper and added brads to the centres as before.

The tree lights are also a Martha Stewart punch which I cut in white, coloured with Copics and a white gel pen for highlights. I added a length of Bakers Twine to the middle and eased it onto the page with glossy accents.

I finished the line with another brad.

Here they are as a double page.

Back to work on Monday so productivity will slow down again.

James' 1st Christmas - page 1

Today's is the first page of last Christmas 2011, which was James' first.
Due to the logistics of travelling etc, we were unable to get together for the day as we have so many year previously - families keep expanding! :)
My brother sent me these photographs.

I started with a sheet of white bazzill and a Martha Stewart punch anywhere snowflake punch and worked my way around the edge - hard work too!
I gutted some red bazzill bling and stuck it behind.

The patterned papers are from Basic Grey Jovial collection again and I used the letters and some elements from the sticker sheets. I added an extra photo with a paperclip (although it doesn't really show here)

These letters were black so I coloured them with a Jelly roll stardust pen then glazed with glossy accents. You can see the detail of the punch well here.

I suspended the baubles from some Bakers twine which had been wrapped around the photo panel.
They are on 3d foam and embellished with diamante and pearls.

Page 2 tomorrow...

James meets the (Great) Grandparents

Still playing catch-up on my great niece and nephew's albums, this page is for James'

Papers are the same as the first pages of his book, Up Up & Away by Mindy Terasawa.
I drew a circle inside and out of my large circle cutter in pencil then used a swirl stamp from a SU Christmas set and some Baja Breeze ink to create the shape.
The photographs were matted onto patterned papers with the edges placed under the circles on the pattern.

I used 3 tags and stuck them together then added rub-on letters for the title.

I cut out clouds from another sheet which was thermographically glittered and added their names to two.

The base paper has a fluffy cloud/floral shape so I used a Martha Stewart glitter pen and traced them, but only the ones inside the circle.

I punched circles from the remaining patterned paper and put them around the edge on 3d foam.
Buttons and pearls were added too.
I ran a edge around the page with a fine-liner to finish.

Christmas (2009)

Following on from yesterday's post, I made the page into a double with the following layout:

White bazzill formed the base and also mat for the photographs.
The remainder of the papers are from Basic Grey Jovial Collection.

The red glitter letters are from an old kit but I can't remember which one! :)
They worked well with this layout though along with the stars which were also on the sheet.

The bunting was cut from strips 1"x2" which were notched and folded over bakers twine.

The floral panel below was part of a sheet of paper, I cut layers and decoupaged it.

Brads from my collection (Basic Grey I think) were perfect for the centres.

This is how they look together

Thanks for looking :)

Balloon Envy

I'm loving Pinterest at the moment, so many inspirational layouts, especially when the mojo has left the building!

Still working on Megan's album, I have made the following layout based on one by Angela McKay.
I have used Basic Grey Jovial papers cut to strips 1 3/4" wide.
The photographs were trimmed to the same depth and edged with an EK Sucess punch on white bazzill.

Megan had fallen in love with a balloon that we had bought for Dad's birthday (Christmas Day!) of a fish floating in a bubble.  She held on to it for most of the day :)

I embellished the strips with snowflakes cut with a Martha Stewart punch and dotted the centres with silver stickles.

The title is placed onto two tags which were on the element sheet which I have stuck onto papers to enlarge. The letters are the rub-ons which I have used a lot of lately - why did I not find these sooner!

The ends were cut to a point.

The original layout is below with a link to Angela's blog, as you will see I have rotated the page to fit my photos which were landscape.

Pinned Image

Isn't this a stunner, loving the bright summer colours.

Bella Butterfly

Still working on updating Megan's album, I needed a cover page for new 12x12 which had arrived.
Mojo missing at the moment so have scrap-lifted this one.
The photo was from her 1st birthday too and the toy is called Bella Butterfly - hence the title.

I have used a selection of papers from Basic Grey's Sweet Thread collection and some white bazzill
The butterflies are Memory box, 2 different types, layered up and tied with bakers twine.
I left the knot at the top for antennae.

The borders are from the sticker sheet which comes with the paper pack as it the word Bella.
Butterfly is rub-ons from Making Memories.

The buttons are Basic Grey from my stash of many and are tied with the same twine.

I added a line around the word to make it stand out more and dotted the flower border with stickles.

The layout is scraplifted from Lisette Gibbons, the original is below, found on Pinterest

Lisette has some stunning layouts on her blog, follow the link above.

Happy 60th Birthday Derek!

Today is my brother's 60th! Birthday - wow, makes you feel really old!

He loves aircraft so this stamp was a must buy on a visit to Crafts-u-Love earlier this year.
Yes, I know it's cute but hey - I'm the one making the card :)

Inspired by the Queen's jubilee celebrations, I created a fly-by!

The base card is an 8x8" from CWC covered with MME Good day Sunshine paper called Head in the Clouds. I used the rest of the paper to cut a "60" out and placed on the front.
I stamped and coloured 10 planes with Copics and mounted them onto the 60 at various heights.
The edges of the numbers have faux stitching to make them stand out a little.

A while back I bough some rub-on letters from Making Memories and I used these to create the message.

and add his name....

I stamped the whole image on the insert too.

Hope you have a lovely day Derek.

I am entering this card into the Penny Black Challenge - Summertime and the living is easy - Love the blue sky background with fluffy clouds :)
And also Merly Impressions - Red/White/Blue Challenge - as inspired by Jubilee :)

A quote found on Pinterest which just about sums me up...

And an Oreo cake (also Pinterest) which Lianne would love!

Hope you are having a lovely weekend

Why I Scrapbook - Merly Impressions Challenge

This months challenge on the Merly Impressions blog invites us to say why we scrapbook.
This for me came at a relevant time for obvious reasons (see previous post)

I chose to use this photograph of Mum and her Mother, (I never knew my Grandmother as she died the year I was born) on a beach enjoying the sunshine.

Papers are Kaisercraft - Charlottes Dream - from a kit I got recently from Merly Impressions.
I used the peach cardstock as a background for the die-cut after gutting the middle.
The kit contained rub-on sentiments about Mothers/Motherhood and also a pack of die-cut shapes.
I used one of these to add a rub-on as below and taped some ribbons behind.
Two other elements were used to frame the photo which is mounted onto the gutted cardstock.

I used a further die-cut and some rub-on letters I already had to create the message below.
The flowers were punched from the sheet called Vision, the fronds from Fantasy and some brown bazzill scraps I had.

I added some diamante the the centres and also to the swirl.
Futher ribbon twists were added around the floral area.

Again, another fabulous challenge from the Merly Team and a fab kit too - really enjoying it!

Thanks for looking - check out the Merly Challenge too.
