Abi's 10!

I had great fun last weekend making this card for my great-niece.

The base card is 8x8" with Bo Bunny Basics paper.
I stamped around the edge using a JOFY stamp from Jo's recent releases. As it didn't quite join a fineliner joined the edges.

The main design is on an MDF doorhanger which I coated with Snowflake Fresco paint.

The design was stamped onto a piece of watercolour card cut to size then coloured with distress pens.
The girl was stamped separately along with the blooms & sun, coloured, cut out and added with tacky glue.

Letters cut from cardboard then coated with Distress ink, glossy accents and white gel pen.
As the dot over the "i" was in the hole, Robert (my husband) suggested I add it on acetate - it worked!
I'll make a crafter of him yet (hahahahahah)

I stamped the sentiment onto the card and coloured.
The tag was stamped and cut out then raised on 3d foam.

A few extra blooms and leaves were added with glue gel to give them more strength.
Then finally, gems galore & Spectrum Sparkle - A girl can never have enough bling!

Happy Birthday Abi - have a great day

A card kit....................

Shock, horror!
Not sure why I bought this kit but...........
here are some cards I made with it when it was discovered during a clear out.

Made this one for a friend who's colleague was unwell.

Do you make random purchases and then think why???

I have really enjoyed playing with Coastal Escape by Kaisercraft this month from Merly Impressions.
This was my second layout which ended very differently once pulled apart and re-worked - goes to show all is not lost if you are not happy with the first result!

Full details can be found here on the blog.

Happy Easter!

Wedding in CapeTown

Another card request here from the lovely Lauren who's brother got married recently.
Love making 8x8" cards for weddings as you can get lots of detail in without (I think) being overcrowded.

I punched, stamped and created the roses below a la Hels Sheridan :)

Congratulations to the happy couple.

Together Forever by Sara Davis

Last week saw the launch of Sara's new Signature Range - Together Forever - on Hochanda. I had the pleasure of working with this and the results are below:

The fabulous foiled cardstock, an embossing folder, plus the birds and word dies.
For a little fun I added some lace to make a veil and a top hat (from the Snowman die) to create the perfect couple.

This one also uses the birds, along with the heart and word dies.
The cardstock and satin mirri are sensational.

I think this was my favourite - using the velum with the edge'able die and the words cut using stick-it and glitter.

I embossed the glasses after they were cut then masked and sprayed with Spray and Sparkle to look like champagne. The message is from the stamp set.

I used the decorative panel for this one, cut into the front of the card. Satin mirri card on the inside of the card. The heart and words were added too.

I used the edge'able for this one with the scalloped addition. Another lovely embossing folder and a stamped message to complete. The paper behind is from the 6x6" paper pad.

Lianne's Birthday

It was my lovely daughters birthday yesterday so I can finally show the card I made her.

Seem to be featuring on all my cards lately, Tim Holtz Crazy Cats and Mini Birds, plus, my absolute go-to's at present JOFY stamps by Jo Firth-Young.
I coloured the cat to look like our George with Distress Markers.

A few blooms and leaves were cut out and added with glue gel for dimension too.

The letters are cardboard cut with a Sizzix Bigz die.

Happy Birthday Lianne, I hope you had a fabulous day

Emma's 21st

I can't believe my friends daughter turned 21 last week! I remember her being born - where does the time go?

This was the card I made her using Tim Holtz Crazy Cats and JOFY stamps - definitely my favourites!

It's been coloured with a mixture of Fresco paint and Distress Markers plus a stencil thrown in for good measure.

The letters are a Sizzix Bigz die, cut out of cardboard, coloured with Distress ink and coated with Glossy Accents.

The larger blooms were cut out and layered with 3d glue gel.

Happy Birthday Emma - hope you had a fabulous day
