Ooh La La

Last weekend I was away with my lovely friends for a crafting weekend. It's always hard to know what to take, so, as we have lots of kits from Craftwork Cards, decided to take them. Lynn & I still managed to fill her car to the brim!

I only used one kit after all that, the Ooh La La collection - this is what I made -

A 6x6" scalloped edge card with one of the included frames. I folded the front edge over added pattered papers, the frame was dusted with Distress ink (Ripe Persimmon I think (?)!) The flowers were die-cuts included also tinted with the same in. The brighter orange is from Bo Bunny which I also had with me. I created large flower centres with a circle punch and moulded with a ball tool.
And of course my trusty Martha Stewart Butterfly punch - 2 layers with a rolled body.

The inside used a die-cut shape and sentiment to which I added Platinum Stickles.

The next is a 6x6 shaped card which I have covered with the papers. The frame was inked with Peacock Feathers and mounted on 3d foam tape. The same die-cut flowers were used with jewels in the centres. I added some of the die-cut tickets which came in the kit and fronds with another favourite Martha Stewart punch.

For this one I ran a ruffled edge of ribbon along two sides then added die cut stems (Memory Box and Joanna Sheen) plus some punched flowers coloured with Seedless Preserve.

The next was dusted with Evergreen Bough and one edge punched with a Deep Edge Martha Stewart punch. Punched flowers and various die-cuts were added with another punched Butterfly.

Peacock Feathers enhanced the colours on this one.

I created the tiny roses using a Woodware six petal flower punch.

A mixture of colours were added to this one.

The flowers were punched with jewels added to the centres.

Loving the Joanna Sheen Ivy stem.

They all follow a similar theme, needless to say, as they are from one kit. I have just added a touch of colour.

Also loving this new Memory box stem!

Thanks for taking the time to have a look.

Gifts for the Girls 2015

What am I like?
Every year at our retreat we exchange gifts, this year, guess who forgot to take a photograph for her blog? - Yes, me!

Luckily Lynn and Anita obliged and sent me these -

I saved the little coffee jars again and filled them with buttons!

A girl can never have enough...............

Love the sparkle effect Anita got with this shot!

A little organza ribbon and a label as a reminder.

I hope they all loved them.

Regimental Man

My Dad recently got his medals from his service during WW2 in the Tank Regiment and wanted some photographs taken wearing them, he looked so smart.
His sister's birthday was this week and he wanted to send her one so I made it into a birthday card.

The base card is 8x8" and I added some pale green paper stamped with a lovely Sheena Douglass swirl borrowed from my friend Sandra.

The photo was matted with back bazzill and placed centrally.
Sandra also had these amazing flower and leaf stamps so I borrowed them too and stamped them onto watercolour card.

I used Distress Markers to watercolour them plus lots of stickles.

Crystal Lacquer was added to the leaves to resemble dew drops.

Happy Birthday Auntie Maureen - hope you had a lovely day.

Anita's card

The lovely Anita had a birthday over the weekend and this is the card I made for her.
The image is from Woodware with the JOFY dragonfly and text from PaperArtsy, they were stamped onto watercolour card and coloured using Aqua Tints and Distress Markers.

I cut out and added some extra blooms too.

A white sharpie pen was used to dot some highlights onto the flowers too and, of course, stickles!

I love these dragonflies!

Hope you had a fabulous birthday Anita :)

Watercolour Challenge

I've fallen in love with these gorgeous stamps from Paper Artsy by Jofy.
The image below was created using two sets of from her A5 range, stamped onto some watercolour card cut 5x5"

I used my Distress Ink pads and pens to colour the images plus some Stains which I squeezed onto my craft mat.

I mounted it onto black bazzill then onto a 6x6" card and added white sharpie pen and some Martha Stewart glitter glue for accents.

I love the watercolour effect this has given.

Which are your favourite stamps at the moment?

Bee Happy

Another stamp I bough recently was this one from Woodware called Boxed Daisy Trio, coloured with copics and highlighted with a yellow stardust gelly roll pen.

The base card is 8x8" with papers bought on the same shopping trip.
I added the lace and some cut-outs from a Tim Holtz sizzix die in Kraft card.

The tag (was white) is coloured using Fresco Chalk paints from Paper Artsy and stamped over with Archival black. Accents added with a white sharpie pen.

A little ribbon and some gems finished the card.

Ariel & George for Lianne

It was my daughters birthday last week and I saw these Penny Black stamps at Crafts-u-Love and just knew they would be perfect.
I lined them up on an acrylic block then stamped them together joining the tightrope to the ladder with a black fine-liner.

The image was coloured with Copics to match our cats George - black and white, and Ariel - Grey and white.

The Happy Birthday stamp came with the cat above.

Letters were cut with an alphabet borrowed from Sandra - Thank-you - and embellished with glossy accents and glitter.

The card base is white bazzill, dotty paper from the Craft Barn and the purple bazzill given to me by the lovely Lynn - Thank-you. The web was the same one used on Roberts card which I got from Jill at Cardinal Colours.

Thanks for looking

Travel Log - Wanderlust Kaisercraft Collection

On Friday my second page for Merly Impressions went on the blog - click here for details.

I used photographs from the same trip as my first page and they made a lovely double spread.

I rolled paper to create tubes and then angled them to point to the words....

And added planes coated with glossy accents to point to the Title.

And a tag to dispel the myth that the Onion domed beauty is the Kremlin!
(The Kremlin is a huge complex next to Red Square, St Basils is a the lower end near the river)

And a trail of pearls to signify a journey around the globe.

Thanks for taking a look, please pop over to the Merly Impressions site for more inspiration from the DT.

Forever Friends at Valentines

This year I only made two Valentines cards, as requested by a friend.
The image is the same, a decoupaged Forever Friends bear which I printed from a CD,
In the original image the heart has a Union Jack on it so I had to cut and stick red ones on instead.

The first is a 6x6" base with a gold mirri square created with a Martha Stewart PATP set.
The sentiment was printed then punched with a Stamping up set. I added an enamel heart with a brad.

The second is 8x8" using the same papers but with an additional border punched in white with red ribbons.
The letters are from a Basic Grey sheet which I've coated with glossy accents.

I hope they were happy with result.

Happy Birthday Joshua

This is the other card I made for Jennifer for her son.
It's an 8x8" base card with cardstock from Stamping up - can't remember the names? and a couple of pieces from my Basic Grey collection.

The image is digital called Mikey which I coloured with my Copics.

I added a few gun targets as this Josh wanted a BB gun for his present - I also felt the patterned paper resembled gunshot holes...........

The letters & numbers are also Basic Grey which I coated with glossy accents.
Card Candy was added to finish.

Hope you had a lovely birthday Josh!

Thanks for looking.

My Knight in Shining Armour

I made this one for my husbands birthday last week.
The card is 6x6" with papers by Bo Bunny, loving the colours these come in, from the Glitter pot.
We had been at Jill's 12 hour crop - Cardinal Colours - at Stone Cross and I borrowed Lynn's Kraftin Kimmie stamp. I bought the spider web from Jill, there are two layers here - silver and purple for contrast.

On the way down we did our usual tour of craft shops and I found this lovely Happy Birthday die at Crafts-u-love, Here you can see it coated with Glossy Accents.

A close up of the image which I coloured with my Copics.
I die cut the image and mounted with the reverse of the dotty paper then used liquid pearls around the edge.

He loved the card!
