February Card Challenge at Scrapology

This months challenge was set by Krafty Karen who often submits her cards and layouts.
The challenge is -
In celebration of Mothers Day – a card for Mother’s Day or a special female, so could be a wedding card or female birthday card.

I made some Mother's Day cards for the girls at work...

They are decoupage sheets from Katy Sue Designs CD - Fabulous Shoes.
I used an image from this one for January's challenge too.

The first one is on a 7x5" card and uses some paper from a Theresa Collins collection I got last year.
I decided to keep them simple so just added a pearl in each corner and a message stamped with a Lili of the Valley sentiment. This was layered onto an SU punched scallop.

The second is A5 and uses paper from my stash.
The edge of the oval is liquid pearls in Raspberry.

I'm loving these images at the moment and am working my way through the CD.

More to follow!

Welcome Freya

My friend Amber had a beautiful baby girl in January so I made her this card.
I used a design I've used before with paper patchwork, stitching and buttons.
I added the babies name, Freya, in a banner.

The card is 8x8" and the papers are Papermania.

Congratulations to Amber and Scott, she's beautiful.

Always playing catch-up..........

Here are some more cards, one made the other week, one made last year!

This one uses a stamped image from Tim Holtz, coloured with Copics.
Simply mounted onto some embossed paper held in place with brads.
I ran a fine line of glitter glue around the edge too.

The one used some leftover papers from a Scrapology kit.
The roses were made with a six petal punch and the leaves are a Martha Stewart punch.
I added some lace and pearls and stamped flourishes.
The message is Stampin' Up.

Hope you are having a lovely weekend

Stash Busting

Whilst clearing my craft room recently, I found some decoupaged images cut out and ready to go.
I decided to make them up before starting on other projects - here are the results.

Still more to do too!

More Valentine cards -

Another batch of cards I made this weekend for Valentines.

This one is a 6x6" card made into an easel.
I cut a square of red and added a 6x6" white bazzill cover punched with Martha Stewart deep edged punch.
The same card and punch were used to create the stop on the base and I added a red ribbon with a tied knot.

The message is a definition of love from Papermania.
I added some red & white paper roses and punched fronds.
Red gems to finish.

These were based on an idea I saw - I think on the TV?
The tree is a memory box die, cut with black glitter cardstock.
Small punched hearts were added then coated thickly with glossy accents.

Thanks for taking a look :)

Noah - Scrapology February Challenge - X is for (e)Xplosion!

Corrie Jones provided the inspiration for this months scraplift, here is my interpretation -

I started with a 12x12 sheet of bazzill and some distress stains which I swept out from the centre using a dry brush technique - 2 shades of blue. They dry quickly so I found it easier to splodge them onto a plate and paint on from there.

Once completely dry, I flicked other colours of Distress Stains onto the 4 quarters.
My photographs are from the 2010 Elephants on Parade collection and I've mounted them onto white bazzill. The main one is raised on 3d foam.

A variety of pearls, gems and buttons in coordinating colours.

I then added my title using alphabet stickers from my collection and small alphabet stickers for my journalling. I outlined all of these with a black fine-liner pen.

Check out the details of the challenge on the Scrapology site and view our DT's inspirations.
