What a Day!

No time for crafting yesterday.

I had a second interview for a job yesterday at 9.30am. Came home and thought I'd catch up with an order, no chance! Dad called as he had locked his car keys in the car so a dash to Dartford with the spares. On the way, my daughter called to say the fridge wasnt working. Luckily my husband came home early so we investigated and yes, it had expired. The hottest day of the year so far of course and the day after a major shop which filled the fridge and freezer.
We went to Comet and luckily they had the one we wanted in stock. After much faffing around it was installed and up and running..Phew. Then we noticed the huge fault which runs the length of the freezer door - todays job.

Based on an idea from the Southern Stamp show at Worthing in May, the above cards have beaded skirts. I also added feathers to the fan.

Greetings from NZ

My friends Mum will be 60 shortly and I was asked to make a card which represented New Zealand. I searched for suitable decoupage or other "icons" but was unable to find any, so I used the flag to represent a garden planter and filled it with flowers.

Crafting with Greens - Scrapaholix July DLO

With Shimelles Month of colour challenge in mind again, A day for Green crafting - June 15th - I created this DLO from the July 09 Scrapaholix kit. Pearl-ex was used on the letters mixed with glossy accents and in the corners brushed over images stamped with a versamark pad.

Below is an image of the flower detail.

Scrapaholix - New Club in Crayford

Keeping it simple...

We are just starting a Scrapaholix Club in Crayford and this is the first of the LO's for July. The technique is Pearl-ex which is similar to Glimmer-mist but comes in powder form. You can add to many mediums to create different finishes. On this one I simply rubbed the edges of the red card with a cotton wool pad which created a shimmering border.

Shimelles colour challenge, 16th June inspired this - a day for red, rose and pink crafting.

Wedding Album

Robert and I married in Florida so we only had some 6x4 pictures. I am trying to create an album but with limited pictures its quite hard. There were 2 images of Robert before the ceremony and one of me so I cropped and enlarged them to create these LO's. The left side was based on a mojoholder sketch the right side made to match. I used the June Scrapaholix kit papers which came with distress stickles which I applied to the flower heads. I used punches to create the flowers and Vixen QK Alphabet.
These are a few cards I made recently while away at Lynn's.
They were made using CWC products from the colour co-ordinated packs they sell.
I love the contrast between the black and pinks.

Sunday is for Pastels

I took this photo in my front garden with my new camera, a lumix G1. I love the colours of these daisies.

ER - The finale

I watched the finale of ER last night (recorded previously). I really cannot believe that this is the last one. This show has been complusive viewing in my house since it began!

Photographing the Photographer

My beautiful daughter Lianne is on Dynamic Models books and today a photographer, Paul Amey, came to take some bikini shots for her portfolio. I took some photos of him while he was doing the shoot....

Friday - A day for brights (whites)

Roberts Fretboard, one of my favourite prints by Daniel Laurence,

A white coffe mug, my lounge - I love the effect of the light though the white voile.

And Jess, he has a lovely bright white inverted heart on his nose :)

Butterflies

I attended Wendys class at Papermaze, http://www.papermaze.co.uk/customer/home.php on Wednesday last week with Lynn, who I must Thank for letting me stay at her house. The LO on the right was the class page although I positioned the photograph on the opposite side. The LO on the left was to complete the double page.
I purchased another sheet of the green background paper and used the leftovers from the kit to create this one. I used Lynn's Cuttlebug Butterflys on the left as you can see from the white image below. The others were cut using Wendy's template.

Blue Thursday...

I was sitting at my desk and realised how much blue is around me.
My desktop, which Robert made is blue, I had my catseye chalks, Herma and other tape dispenser, even the light on my Clickfree backup device.

You...

Once I had made "me", I wanted to create the double page for it so decided to make this one of my husband Robert.

This is the other half of the photograph of me which I cropped. Roberts favourite colour is yellow so I tied the pages together with the Aqua colour from my page.

BG Urban Prairie papers.

Me....

Day One Challenge (just catching up) was your favourite colour.

I had trouble deciding which ones to choose as I like lots. In the end I chose pink and aqua with a hint of lilac.

This LO was created using BG Urban Prairie papers with a MM scallop floral circle.

The flowers were cut with my Woodware punches and candy dots added in the centre.

I wrote the journalling around the scallop with a white gel pen.

Grey Wednesday

I'm away with my BF Lynn at present and took these photos at her house in Suffolk.
A grey printer, a very gray day and the gray roof of a dolls house.

Red Tuesday

When I saw todays challenge was "red" it reminded me of this photo that I took on Sunday.
My Mum in her red coat in her red wheelchair sitting next to a red bench. My Dad and niece were sitting with her and it reminded me of the
"Evil Monkeys" so I got them to pose....

I took this today of a Paeony in my front garden.
I replanted this from my old house where it never bloomed. Now its going from strength to strength, it obviously likes its new position.

Blue Sky Challenge - 6th June

I love the way the clouds are in this blue sky, taken in the park at the weekend.

Then I remembered these from the Maldives last November...

More Fathers Day...

These are from the new range, Dandylion and Daisy.

They are supposed to be die-cut but there is always a white edge around the pieces so I end up with my scissors anyway!

The background on this one was a "washed-out" image so I edged the circle that the decoupage was on the make it stand out more.

From the same sheet, this one did not have the circular backing so I mounted it onto the full colour sheet. I added glossy accents onto the paintpot and brush and also run an area on the door to represent wet paint.

Another from the Forever Friends range here.

The sheet finished just below the bear so I added the area cut away from the top, edged with ink, to form a border to add the writing to.
The stars were 3d'd onto the top. I think its the first time I've ever handwritten a message on a card.

Forever Friends Bears wallpapering.
This one was very good image to decoupage.
Glossy accents added to the the paste bucket and brush for a sheen.
A very productive day I think.
Thankfully Jess (my cat) is home again. They are not sure what caused his illness so I'll have to keep an eye on him for a few days. He is in the slideshow below as my Blue option.
