More baking & Zoe's birthday cake(s)

The beginning of September was our monthy crop at Cardinal Colours.
Zoe was due to join us again but unfortunately was under the weather and unable to come.
It's her birthday this month so we had a few treats lined up - which we just had to eat ourselves!
We did think of you Zoe while tucking in though!

Anita made the most amazing chocolate fudge cake complete with bunting and deliciously embellished with "sprout"

Sprouts are cool - see, he's wearing shades!

I added to the calories with Lemon Surprise Cup-cakes.

Sorry you couldn't be there Zoe :(

Still can't share what I made craft-wise though....all will be revealed soon!

Sunday I decorated the following cupcakes for work...

Coffee Cream with Hotel Chocolate's chocolate covered coffee beans!

Coconut Cream with Strawberry jam..

Two tone vanilla roses

Kerry's 30th

I may have left the last job but am pleased to have stayed in contact with friends like Claire.
She asked me to make this card for her friends birthday.
I used an 8x8" CWC card and trimmed the front back.
I have used papers from Craftwork cards called Blossom.

I cut swirls with a Tim Holts sizzix die and added them around the framed photograph overlapping the edge.
The letters were cut using the Teardrop Cricut Cartridge then glittered - we all know how much Claire loves bling! :)

I added some paper roses and leaves and yet more glitter.

Pearls and bling from my stash were used to finish.

Hope you had a lovely birthday Kerry.

E is for Embossing - Scrapology September Challenge - Pause for Thought...

Well another months challenge has arrived, our featured scraplift is by Kelly Goree, hop over to Scrapology to find out more...

I have used Basic Grey Kioshi papers, element stickers and alphabet.
I cut a 3" strip of the stripey paper and 10" of the floral then overlapped onto the stripes to create the 12x12" page. A panel 6.5 x 9" was cut from the pale green and added to the R/H side and a 4x12" of the lilac positioned across the lower half. The photograph was cut to 5.5 x 4.75" and double mounted.

The borders are from the elements sheet along with the bird and butterflies which were stuck onto card and mounted on 3d foam pads.
I cut a floral panel from another sheet which I added the the top of the lilac strip and then dry-embossed to enhance the leaves and flowers - had to add some stickles at this point too and a couple of buttons from my stash!
Below is a close-up.

I added glossy accents to the butterflies bodies and faux stitching around the edges.

This is the sketch we worked from...

And the original layout by Kelly.

Why not take a look at the Scrapology blog to find out more about Kelly and see the other DT entries.
Closing date is the 5th October and a fab prize will be on offer for the winner.
