A card for a 12 year old

I was asked by a colleague if I could make a card for her son who will be 12 on Valentines day.

She had been looking in the shops and couldn't find one she liked which had an age on it.

I "borrowed" this idea from Lynn and made the following card.

It's an A5 black card landscape which I covered with Bo Bunny papers which I got last year.

I left a small border around the edge.

The 12 was cut with my Cricut using the Teardrop font with another of the Bo Bunny papers shadowed in black bazzill.

The name was cut using the same font and I chose a piece of the paper which graduated in colour from blue to yellow. These was also shadowed with black and place on a strip of the paper bordered with black.

I added the 12 with 3d foam tape then the banner across the middle raised further.

A few candi were added to finish the card.

Siblings - February Scrapology Challenge - Texture Paste

For our kit we chose to use papers from Kaisercraft Periwinkle Collection, here is my version.

I gutted the"Hint" paper to 3cm from the edge, cut "Breath" to 26 x 29 cm - vertical - and a strip  of"Whisper" 5 x 29 cm. I distressed the edges apart from the right hand edge of breath which I punched with a notched edge.

A brick wall mask was used to add the texture paste and the page put aside to dry.

I then used the offcut from breath to punch a lace edge using a Martha Stewart Embroidery deep edge punch. Narrow strips of hint and secret were cut and all edged distressed and inked.

I cut several strips of paper and hand cut label edges of various sizes, all of which were inked and a fine line drawn with black pen. These were placed under the edge of the photograph (which is approximately 4x4") to create a border.

Several layers of Tattered florals petals were cut and layered, again each inked and lined with pen, the assembled randomly having been scrunched.

The leaves were cut with a sizzix leaf die and lined with black pen too.

I had created a tear on the left hand side and layered underneath with additional blooms and a piece of the leftover punched lace and added the strips below the photo.

A rectangle was placed under the photo mount, I used the cut-off strips from the paper to create the tags.  The hearts were punched with a stamping up punch as were the birds.

I added some jewells to finish the page and some faux stitching.

The papers are Prima Almanac.

I left the word strip intact and punctuated with dots adding the word "do" to the end.

The kit included some beads and pin heads to create your own decorated hat pins.

The roses and leaf are from my collection.

I added the letters below to a cut out element then edged with a fine-liner.

Jewels were added the the flower centres for a little bling :)

I cut the centre from the clock face and placed it to show the date of our wedding -

30th November 2000, then added pearls to show 4pm.

and a wedding card

This the final card of the order from work.

It's the wedding card to got with the acceptance I made previously.

The card is a linen effect 6x6" from Craftwork cards.

I cut and embossed a piece of white card and added to the centre.

The panel is Stampin' Up Apothecary label and die cut set, with the word congratulations added - also a SU stamp. I used Copics again to colour the roses and leaves. 

A ribbon from my stash was tied around the edge.

The flowers were spritzed with pearl mica and stuck onto some leaves cut with a memory box die set.

I added a few branches punched with a Martha Stewart punch in kraft card then added random jewels to finish.

I am pleased to say that Lucie was delighted with the results :)

Baptising Theo

I recently made the wedding acceptance card for a work colleague who also asked for the following.

She wanted a card for the baptism of her friends son, Theo.

I showed her a photo of the new baby card I made recently for Jessica and we decided the same theme would be good.

The papers are from my collection and are on a 6x6" card folded into an easel.

The scalloped circles were cut with Marianne dies and inked.

The elephant was stamped and coloured with Copics, I added tiny green gems too.

The letters are from the paper range and were green, grey and blue so I used a copic to make them all the same.

The photographs are not the best but I had to take them quickly :(

The day we met Rihanna...

In her homeland too!

We booked to go on an off-road safari whilst in Barbados and had a stop at the beautiful Bathsheba on the rugged Atlantic coast.

and met Rihanna, the monkey!

She was lovely :)

This is our jeep, very bumpy ride but great fun.

Colour Wheel - Card Three - Acceptance

The third card I made was for a lady I work with, she had asked for an acceptance card for a wedding and the colour scheme just happened to be purple!

The card is DL sized pearlescent lilac which I matted with some doodlebug paper from my stash.

I cut the bunting by hand and added a line of bakers twine and some pearls to join, the letters are rub-ons from a stack I've had for a while now - love them!

I punched a series of small daisies which I highlighted with a black micron pen, silver candi was added to the centre.

The leaves are a Martha Stewart punch.

I have to make a wedding card to coordinate too so look forward to that one.
