A new arrival (& smaller version of the sketch)

I was asked to make a card for a colleague who's just had a new baby.

I so enjoyed making the patchwork page for James that I decided to make a smaller version for this.

The paper are the same range as my layout for James but are cut into 2" squares to fit an 8x8 CWC card.

Again I used bunting for the name and added random stitches and dressed buttons.

Congratulations Russell and Karen on your new arrival - he's just gorgeous!

Sepia cards at Cardinal Colours Retreat 2011

Another class Lynn and I taught at the retreat was colouring images in sepia with ProMarkers.

The cards are a selection from Craftwork Cards, paper are Basic Grey and the stamps used were my Faye Whittaker seaside ones.

Pink Roses & Bunting - Scrapology September Card Challenge

Yesterday saw the launch of the latest Scrapology card challenge.

This month it was set by Craftwork Cards who are a particular favourite of mine.

The challenge was to use bunting.

 I used some Sweet Meadow papers which Lynn kindly shared with me.

I cut some of extra roses & leaves from another sheet, shaped them and added with 3d foam.

I used icicle stickles to accent the flower swirls and lime for the leaves.

The bunting was stamped from another sheet using the Technique Tuesday stamps we used for our Scrapology Bunting Challenge in April this year.

I have strung them with bakers twine and added some rub-on letters from my stash.

Kerry's 30th

I may have left the last job but am pleased to have stayed in contact with friends like Claire.

She asked me to make this card for her friends birthday.

I used an 8x8" CWC card and trimmed the front back.

I have used papers from Craftwork cards called Blossom.

I cut swirls with a Tim Holts sizzix die and added them around the framed photograph overlapping the edge.

The letters were cut using the Teardrop Cricut Cartridge then glittered - we all know how much Claire loves bling! :)

I added some paper roses and leaves and yet more glitter.

Pearls and bling from my stash were used to finish.

Congratulations Nicola and John.

My new colleage (can't believe its been 8 weeks already!!) got married on Saturday.

This is the card I made for them.

The base is a pearlescent pale green CWC 8x8" card.

I added a square of sage bazzill which was punched with my new Martha Stewart PATP set (yes another purchased!)

The centre was layered with CWC pearlescent paper from a block, more sage cardstock, then a panel of embossed paper on a mat of silver with a wedding ring embellishment from my stash.

The names were cut with the Teardrop Cricut cartridge.

We went along the the evening reception and here are the happy couple...

What would you call Postman Pat when he retires?

Pat of course!

Sorry couldn't resist sharing a very bad joke there as it ties in with the following card.

Therese at work asked me to make a card for her postman who is retiring this month, not called Pat I don't think? Anyway, I used a 6x6" CWC card and Prima papers, Jack'n'Jill Collecton called Ode to Joy.

The image is a stamp by Faye Whittaker which I got from Joanna Sheen called postcard which seemed appropriate.

Coloured with Copics and mounted onto brown bazzill with the addition of some raffia.

Below is a close up of the image.

And a small message that comes with the stamp set.

I am the greatest!

Janet at work asked me to make a card for Paul who loves boxing and is a fan on Muhammad Ali.

I used a 8x8" CWC card made into an easel and a sheet of Crate paper called Bounce from the Taylor collection.

The photo was printed from the internet and mounted onto dark brown bazzill.

Ali was famous for the following catchphrase...

Float like a Butterfly....

Sting like a Bee... 

My butterflies were created with 2 sizes of Martha Stewart punches, layered blue onto brown with a rolled paper body. The larger two have back antennae.

My Bees are a QK die. The base was cut twice to give a brown shadow and a yellow body, the wings cut with black cardstock.

Here is a side view.

The "stopper" for the easel is brown and blue card cut with SU punches.

The letters are from a Christmas kit I had and have been outlined in Fineliner for definition.

Happy Birthday Steven

It was my nephews birthday on Sunday and here is the card I made him.

The image is Charlie from Stamping Bella which I stamped at Lynn's house.

Papers from SU mounted onto a 6x6" CWC card, message from CWC mounted into punched circles from SU too.

 The letters are foam from my stash and I have faux stitched around the edges with a fineliner.

The letters are on the inside of the card as below.

Sweet Pea Stamps - Love is Gone.

This one is by Ching Chou Kuik and is called Love is Gone from Thats Crafty.

I cut the coloured image with my creative memories circle cutter then a slightly larger one on purple cardstock. As I was colouring this one BG's Eva papers came to mind so here they are.

I used an 8x8 CWC card and layered it with papers as above and a square cut with a Martha Stewart PATP set. A stem of paper roses were added along with a small pink ribbon.

Below is a close up of the image, I used Copic Ciao pens.

You can't really see from this but I used a white gel pen in dots which really makes the image "pop"

I also used a Spica glitter pen on the wings.

Still working with the Lorelei kit...

If you could see the boxes and (unopened) boxes of stash I have you would be horrified!

So, I made a resolution that if I opened a kit I would make all the cards up, use all the elements and file nothing back in the box. That said, I am still working on the Kanban Lorelei kit and here are some more made cards......

A CWC 6x6 with a retro daisy punched from some Forever Friends papers (as are the backing papers)

I decorated the insert on this one too.

An A5 CWC pink card.

A lilac DL card from my stash

This one is the same range but I found a die-cut sheet loose and made this easel card.

Background papers from the same FF paper pack.
