Scrapology's June challenge is a sketch based on a layout by
Cindy Tobey.
Our technique this month was machine stitching - a first for me on a layout, although I used to make all my own clothes so know my way around a machine :)
I used Cosmo Cricket - Pixie-Licious papers from
Papermaze.
Bloomin Babies, Brownie Bands, Butterfly Kisses & Fairy Rings.
I have covered the faces with daisies to protect their identity.
The green dotty paper forms the base with a strip of the green floral and a piece of the purple dotty paper across the centre. A border was cut from the stripey paper, placed along the bottom edge and a thinner strip at the top edge. I used the sewing machine to create a border all around the page then a zig-zag across the white border strips. The 4 was cut with my Cricut - Ashlyn's Alphabet - jewels & faux stitching added to accent. "When I was" are some small stickers from my stash. The large retro flower (top right) has a circular photo in it and is edged with faux stitching in white gel pen (the white daisy is to cover the face).
A few Pixies & a Bee were cut out and mounted on 3d foam and a few threaded buttons added to finish.
Below is a close-up of the stitching.
