New Home card for Jim

Denise asked me to make a New Home card for her son Jim.

Jim has moved into a flat while he completes his university course.

He wanted a desk in his bedroom but there wasn't enough room for him to sit a it because of his bed so Robert cut a custom-sized piece of MDF for him, hence the brown shape on the card below.

Jim is studying Art and does some fabulous work, below is a photograph of a watercolour he did of Damien Hurst from a newspaper article.

Denise asked for these two things to be incorporated into the card.

The card itself is an 8x8" CWC blank which I made into an easel card.

Papers from my stash of DCWV.

Letters cut with the Don Juan cricut cartridge.

And there is more...

I love Double page spreads so I used the same range of papers to create page 2.

I used a small MS Butterfly punch to create a "flight"? of butterflies up the side of the page and used the same flower types to embellish the page.

A close up of the flowers.

This is how they look together.

Scrapology - E is for Embellishments - November Challenge.

This months scraplift is based on a digital LO by Cindy Schneider her blog is here.

I used papers by Bo Bunny from the Peacock Lane collection.

I edged the turquoise bazzil with a Martha Stuart PATP violet punch.

The embellishements below are a flower from the retro daisy punch some ribbon which I folded into a fan plus two pins. Buttons were tied with some DMC thread.

Again a punched flower with a ribbon fan but with the addition of some silky flowers.

The title and flower centres are Thickers.

Blog hop over to Scrapology to see the other DT versions and to take part in the challenge.

Happy Birthday Liam

Happy Birthday Liam.

It was my friend's sons birthday yesterday and I made him this card - and yes, he got it on time!

I used an image from Stamping Bella which I borrowed from Lynn and coloured with Copic Markers.

The image was mounted onto red and gold cardstock as he is a Liverpool fan, also the shirt!

I cut the letters with my Cricut Don Juan cartridge and put them on with 3d foam so they form the support for the easel card.

Papers were scraps from my stash.

So.... I succeeded in my challenge and have blogged every day during October - phew!

Hope I haven't bored you all too much (those of you in cyberspace that take the time to look - thank you!)

P.S. Please feel free to comment - it's always nice to know you are there :)

Desk Teds Adventure - week 3

Bit of a quiet week for Desk Ted....

Bored, bored, bored.

There was a Desk Ted who lived in a shoe...

Desk Ted in a bag...

Afternoon refreshment...

Adventures planned....

Mad Cat

Ariel was "playing" with Lianne and her new toys.

Suddenly she went mad and just started attacking the stair rods.

And a bouncy furry thing.....

And another...

She's so fast and runs around the house at 100mph.

Additional Elephant

Introducing Glastonelly...

This was one I didn't get to see as it was only on display at Glastonbury Festival.

It was not on the original list of 258 elephants which I am still trying to finish blogging!

More to come.....
